Days of Our Lives Episode Recap, Cast List, and Spoilers for August 2, 2023: Eric Wants Answers





Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on August 2, 2023: Sloan shares a secret about Nicole’s pregnancy. Chanel and Talia face off. Time at home fails to jog Abe’s memory. Wendy is concerned that Li is spending time with Melinda.





Days of Our Lives Episode Recap August 2, 2023: Eric Wants Answers





Chanel is leaving Sweet Bits when she runs into a crying Talia. Talia tells her that she was just at the courthouse for Colin's sentencing and that he got 20 years in prison. She tells Chanel that Colin told her that she is just as guilty as he is and should be in jail too. Chanel tells her that Colin is wrong and that even though Talia made mistakes she isn't like Colin and doesn't belong in prison. Talia asks Chanel if she can buy her dinner and confesses that she misses her and their friendship. Chanel hesitates but eventually agrees, confessing that she misses Talia too. They share dinner in the Square and talk about Abe and Paulina.






Tripp is surprised to see Steve at the hospital. They talk about Abe and his prognosis and Tripp tells Steve to have faith that he will be ok. Tripp shares with his father that he and Wendy are together and she had asked him to leave that day so she could break it gently to Johnny that her choice was Tripp. Steve is happy for them and even offers to let them use his and Kayla's apartment for a night so they can be alone. Tripp thanks him but tells him that he will plan something else. Steve is surprised when he gets a call from Abe.





Eric and Nicole run into each other outside of the Pub. He tells her that Sloan told him about the good test results and that he is happy for her and EJ. Nicole is still confused as to how Sloan ended up with her test results and Eric is surprised because Sloan didn't tell him that part. Nicole asks about the test results for Eric and Sloan's baby and Eric tells her that they aren't in yet. This causes even more confusion for Nicole as to how Sloan was given her results.





Paulina brings Abe home but he has no memory of anything. She promises him that she is going to be patient and tells him that she made all of his favorite foods. He isn't hungry and tells her about Chanel bringing him the bear claw in the hospital. Paulina suggests watching a movie and then kisses him unexpectedly. Abe is not happy about it but Paulina tries to explain that she was just trying to spark his memory. Steve arrives after Abe's call and Abe asks if he can come stay with him for now because he is not comfortable at Paulina's. Paulina is upset but Steve agrees and takes Abe to his place. Nicole arrives to see Abe and Paulina tells her that Abe moved out.





Outside the courthouse, Melina comforts Sloan about Colin's sentence. She tells her that she would offer to buy her a non-alcoholic drink but that she has plans. Sloan asks if she is going on another date and Melinda tells her about the disastrous date with Alex before confiding that she is going out with Li again. Sloan is surprised but encouraging to her. Sloan is about to confide in Melinda about changing Nicole's test results when Eric calls her and says they have to talk. Melinda pushes her to finish what she was saying but Sloan tells her that it was nothing and leaves to meet Eric.





Li and Wendy talk about his horrible date and she is surprised to find out that he is going out with Melinda again. She is worried that the same thing will happen but Li likes Melinda and wants to try again. He leaves for his date and Tripp comes home. He tells Wendy that he booked them a room at the Salem Inn so they can have a private romantic night and she happily goes to pack. Li arrives for his date with Melinda and is happy to see her until he remembers what Wendy says. Melinda is disappointed when he tells her that he has to go because he forgot something else he had to do and quickly leaves. 





Sloan gets home and is happy to see Eric there. He comforts her about her brother's sentence but then she is thrown off guard when he asks why she didn't tell him about getting Nicole's test results. She tries to brush it off as a simple mistake but he keeps pushing. She tells him that he knows how worried she has been and his questioning is upsetting her more. Eric apologizes and hugs her. She hugs him back while looking guilty.
