Days of Our Lives Episode Recap, Cast List, and Spoilers for August 21, 2023: Sarah and Chloe Say Yes!




Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on August 21, 2023: Melinda asks Sloan for help with a legal matter. Nicole reflects on her time with Victor. Shawn blames himself for Victor’s death. Xander comes face-to-face with pregnant Sarah.



Days of Our Lives Episode Recap August 21, 2023: Sarah and Chloe Say Yes!





Belle is surprised to find out that Chloe is thinking about Xander's proposal. Chloe says she hasn't found a reason to say no right before they see Brady standing nearby. Brady berates Chloe for considering the proposal and tells her about Xander punching him. Chloe rips into him for fighting about her when Victor is dead. 






Brady admits that they talked about Victor and even hugged before asking Belle about Shawn. She tells them that he's blaming himself and wishes he had been with Brady and Xander when they talked. Belle gets a text and has to go but she tells her brother to stop badgering Chloe before she leaves. Brady admits to Chloe that he's jealous and tells her that Xander only proposed to her because he can't have Sarah. Chloe tells him that she and Xander were both in love with other people that they can't be with and they fell in love knowing all of each other's baggage.





Eric finds Shawn drinking at the bar and expresses his condolences about Victor's death. Eric doesn't understand why Belle isn't with Shawn but Shawn says it doesn't matter. He tells Eric that Victor's death is his fault and Eric tries to convince him that's not true but Shawn won't be swayed from his opinion. Eric tries to get Shawn to let him take him home but Shawn refuses. They almost come to blows but Belle interrupts them and puts a stop to it. Eric leaves them alone to talk. Belle makes it clear to her husband that she's not leaving him to deal with everything alone.






Sloan is surprised to see Melinda at her door. Melinda tells her that the time has come to pay back the favor she owes her. Sloan says that it's more like blackmail. Melinda tells Sloan about Abe's plan to appoint Paulina as mayor and she's convinced that Paulina will fire her for going after her and Chanel. She tells Sloan that she has a plan to stop it from happening but needs her help.





Melinda explains that her plan is to go after Li for Stefan's shooting. She thinks that once he is notified he is being investigated he will hire Sloan to be his lawyer again and then Sloan can give her evidence from what she learns from Li. Sloan refuses to go along with it because she could lose her license or go to jail. 





Melinda tries to change her mind and finally tells her that she will tell Eric the truth about Nicole's baby if Sloan refuses to help her. Sloan calls her bluff and kicks her out, telling Melinda that she is going to tell Eric the truth herself so it can't be held over her head. She feels that they can work it out because she is pregnant with his child too. Melinda warns her that she will lose him but Sloan is determined to do it her way. When Eric gets home Sloan says that there's something she has to tell him.






EJ is reading the news when Nicole comes in and asks what's wrong. He breaks the news to her that Victor is dead. She asks what happened and EJ fills her in. Nicole is shocked that his death is hitting her hard after everything they went to. EJ asks if there were any good memories from her time with Victor and Nicole says there weren't any as she remembers arguments they had. 





EJ wonders if Stefano and Victor have met up in the "great beyond" yet. They both agree that it's hard to imagine Salem without him and Nicole remembers how funny he was. EJ showers her with very sweet compliments before suggesting that they elope to Italy. He paints a beautiful scenario for her and she agrees. 





When EJ calls for the jet he finds out that Dimitri took it on his honeymoon to Iceland so he suggests they get married in Salem and then leaves to get the paperwork for the license that they need. Nicole has more memories of Victor while he is gone and thinks that her marriage to EJ has to be better than her marriage to Victor was. Outside the Pub EJ collides with Melinda and tells her that he is going to get a marriage license for him and Nicole. She asks him if he's sure that he wants to do that.





Xander comes to the Kiriakis mansion to see Maggie but finds Sarah instead. He is shocked to find out that she's pregnant. Xander assumes the baby is his and can't believe she didn't tell him. Finally, Sarah tells him that the baby is Rex's. Xander is skeptical but Sarah sticks to her story. 





Sarah brings up his relationship with Chloe and Xander tells her that he proposed. This news makes Sarah even more determined that he does not learn the truth. Xander still has doubts about her story when he leaves. After he is gone, Sarah calls Rex and accepts his proposal, telling him they should get married as soon as possible.





Chloe gets home and asks Xander about his visit with Maggie. He tells her that Maggie was resting and he is going to go back tomorrow but leaves out seeing Sarah and her pregnancy. Chloe tells him that she was thinking about Maggie and Victor's relationship and it convinced her to accept Xander's proposal. Xander is happily surprised and kisses her before pulling the ring out of his pocket and slipping it onto her finger.
