Days of Our Lives Episode Recap, Cast List, and Spoilers for August 3, 2023: Kate Comes Clean
Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on August 3, 2023: Harris is committed to Bayview and encounters a familiar face. Sloan receives a lackluster proposal from Eric. Chad confides in EJ. Alex tells Stephanie about his date.
Days of Our Lives Episode Recap August 3, 2023: Kate Comes Clean
Eric apologizes to Sloan for his questions about Nicole's test results. He tells her that all that matters is their baby. They talk about his father's reaction to her pregnancy and Eric assures her that baby Brady will have a lot of love and support from his family. Sloan reminds him that they are not married and asks why he assumes that the baby will have his last name and not hers.
Eric tells her that maybe they should be married and she asks if he is proposing. He tells her that he is and asks what her answer is. Sloan is not happy and tells him no. Eric is confused so Sloan explains that she wants a romantic proposal that reflects their love and not what he just did.
Melinda runs into Nicole in the Square and accidentally knocks her food out of her hand. Nicole is sad because it was her pregnancy-craving snack. Melinda remembers her conversation with Sloan about Nicole and offers to replace the food she caused her to drop. Nicole accepts and Melinda buys her a replacement vanilla shake and order of fried pickles and they sit in the Square and chat as they eat.
Melinda brings up Sloan and her pregnancy but Nicole doesn't care and doesn't want to engage on that topic. She tells Melinda about the mix-up with the test results but brushes it off as an innocent mistake. After Nicole leaves Melinda thinks about the conversation she had with Sloan again and doubts the test results mix-up was an innocent mistake. She calls Sloan and leaves a message for her, suggesting that they meet for lunch.
Chad goes to see EJ at the DiMera mansion and brings him a gift of Cuban cigars to congratulate him on Nicole's pregnancy. EJ thanks him and they talk about Chad's issues with Alex. EJ encourages him to think of what their father would do and take a stand with Alex. Chad thanks him for the advice and leaves, determined to follow it. When Nicole gets home she tells EJ about her run-in with Melinda and EJ thinks she is just trying to live vicariously through them because she is lonely.
Alex brings Chinese food to Stephanie for her and Chad to thank them for letting him tag along to the Pub with them the night before. She thanks him and they share a beer as he tells her about his bad date with Melinda. She goes to check on the kids and Chad gets home. He takes the opportunity to lay down the law with Alex and make sure he knows that he is not welcome in their lives. Alex gets the message loud and clear.
When Stephanie comes back out he tells her that he has to go do some work. She invites him to stay for dinner and Chad encourages him to as well but Alex insists on leaving. After he is gone, Stephanie is confused about what happened but Chad pretends to not know what is going on and suggests that maybe Alex just has work to do as he said.
Marlena gives Harris a tour of Bayview and tells him that she admires what he is doing and that he is very brave for doing it. After she leaves he is approached by Eve Donovan! He is surprised to see her there and she is equally shocked to run into him. They talk and he apologizes sincerely for what he did to her in high school. She accepts his apology and they sit down and talk about what happened to put each of them there. They both agree that there is still hope for each of them to make their dreams come true.
At the Pub, Roman and Kate talk about the baby and Kate encourages him to give Sloan another chance, comparing Sloan to herself years before. Roman thinks that it is different and talks about the trust they have between them. Kate feels bad, knowing she is keeping something from him, and Roman picks up on it and asks her. She confesses that she asked Harris to kill Megan for her but tells him that Harris turned her down and had another plan.
They talk about the whole thing and Roman is surprised to find out that Kayla knew. Kate asks if he thinks she is a monster and Roman kisses her, assuring her that he knows her heart and loves her and nothing will change that. Marlena comes in and teases them about getting a room before telling them that she was with Harris at Bayview. They discuss Eric and Sloan's baby and Marlena shares that her feelings about it are the same as Roman's. They are happy for their son but worried about the child's mother and what she might do.
