Spoilers for General Hospital on August 29, 2023: Jackson Montgomery returns. Cyrus probes Drew. Gladys is in a pickle. Brick and Sonny put their heads together. Tracy creates a stir.
General Hospital Episode Recap August 29, 2023: Jackson & Lucy Meet Again
Portia brings Curtis home to the lakehouse and Trina and Marshall are there to greet them. Trina embraces him happily, calling him Dad as she welcomes him home. He looks around a little and Trina tells him about all of the changes they made to make it more accessible and things she did to make it more welcoming for him. Marshall asks to speak to him privately so they go out to the patio.
Once they are outside Marshall tells him that there's a problem with the club and tells him about his conversation with Selina Wu at the MetroCourt pool. He tells Curtis she still wants to buy it and Curtis wonders if he should sell. Marshall offers to run the club for him but Curtis tells him that his dream was to open a nightclub and he did that so maybe it's time to move on to the next thing. Marshall hopes he will reconsider but says the decision is his.
Inside Portia talks to Trina and gently tells her that she's coming on a little too strong and may be making Curtis uncomfortable. Trina feels bad but Portia tells her that it's okay, he felt her love and that's what's important. She says they just need to give him a little room. Portia tells her that she is trying to find the balance too and they will get through it as a family.
Marshall leaves to go to GH for a gig and Curtis remembers how cruel he was to Portia in the hospital. She comes outside and he apologizes. She tells him that she understands and forgives him for it. Portia tells him that Trina went to go see Spencer so they are alone. Curtis reminds her about his wheelchair and tells her that he can't make love to her. She makes it clear that she loves him and isn't going anywhere.
Nurse Janice checks on Sasha and she tells her that she's cold and in a lot of pain. She gets her another blanket and leaves to get her some pain medication. Dr. Montague is lurking around the corner and slips into Sasha's room after Janice leaves. He pulls out a syringe and tells her that he is going to make her pain go away. She begs him not to inject her but he does anyway and she passes out.
When Janice comes back she is happy to find Sasha sleeping but wonders why she's not improving. Dr. Montague tells her that some recoveries take longer than others. Janice wonders if she would do better in a private facility where she could get more personalized care.
Gladys goes to Crimson to talk to Nina and asks her for $50,000 for Sasha's medical bills. She explains that because of the lawsuit Sasha's Deception stock is frozen and can't be sold. Nina is skeptical and asks why she didn't go to Sonny. Gladys tries to play on Nina's closeness to Sasha and Willow but she doubts her story and tells her if she can't tell her the truth then she has to leave. Gladys breaks down and tells her about her gambling debt.
Nina is furious that she is going to use Sasha's money to pay it off and tells her to go to Sonny and come clean and let him help her. After Gladys leaves she gets a call from Dr. Montague telling her that the staff wants Sasha to be moved which would take her out of his control. He tells Gladys that she has two days to get him his money or he will have to make sure Sasha can't tell anyone what he did. Gladys panics and goes back into Nina's office and tells her that she needs the money to pay off Sasha's doctor or he'll never let her out.
Brick and Sonny meet in Sonny's office and Brick tells him that Betty left town and went to Mexico. Brick offers to have her brought back but Sonny says he has people in Mexico that can grab her if he has any questions for her. Sonny tells him that he is having Mason and Austin followed and Austin visited someone at Pentonville. Brick tells him he will find out what he can.
Sonny wants to know why their boss wants information about his deal with Pikeman. Brick tells him that the more he researches Pikeman the more twisted it gets. He thinks someone might want to cut in on Sonny's deal with Pikeman. Sonny says they are going to a whole lot of trouble to take something he doesn't even want. Sony's not sure the risk with Pikeman is worth the reward anymore. Brick warns him to be careful with Pikeman.
Michael comes to Kelly's to see Carly and they talk about her new venture and her idea for Diane to get Drew out of prison. She tells him about her visit from Sonny and they talk about the information Michael is getting from Dex. Michael tells her about Betty and Carly tells him she knew there was something up with her. They try to figure out who Austin could have been visiting and Carly suggests that maybe Drew can find out. Michael isn't sure that's a good idea and she agrees because she doesn't want Drew to be in any more danger. Michael tells Carly that Dex is on it and if Sonny needs help he will make sure he gets it.
Cyrus and Drew talk in the library at Pentonville and Cyrus congratulates Drew on being under Sonny's protection. Drew tells him that he has nothing to do with Sonny's business and didn't ask for his protection. Cyrus tells him that he has the protection whether he wants it or not and tells him that it's ironic that now he sort of has it as well.
Drew tells him that he doesn't think Sonny would do anything to protect him and Cyrus says that he would though and that gives him protection from Sonny by extension. Drew makes it clear that he doesn't like him and was just doing the right thing when he saved him. Cyrus tells him that Drew is the sort of man he aspires to be. Cyrus says that he owes Drew his life and he will not forget it.
At the courthouse, Lucy is on the phone pleading with someone to come help her in court. She hangs up and goes into the courtroom where Maxie and Brook Lynn are waiting. Maxie wonders why Else isn't there yet and Lucy tells her that she fired her. Maxie is baffled why Lucy would do this and Lucy explains that if they lose they won't have the money to pay her. Maxie shoots back that they can't win without a lawyer.
Lucy tells them she has it handled and they start to try to figure out who is trying to sue them while Brook Lynn stands there looking very guilty. Lucy thinks someone may just be pulling a scam to try and get money off them and is determined to not let it happen. She's surprised when Jackson Montgomery walks into the courtroom and they banter about her time in Pine Valley. She asks why he's there and he tells her that his client is the one suing Deception. Lucy wants to know who his client is but he won't tell her. She tells him that he is going to lose because she came up with the idea for the Deceptor herself and he tells her that he hopes that she's right.
Lucy is surprised when Elise comes in but Maxie says she called her. Lucy is happy because she is pretty sure Scott won't show up. Elis says that they should be okay as long as they are telling the truth. Tracy walks in and Maxie assumes she is there to support them because of Brook Lynn. Maxie and Lucy are both shocked when Tracy says she is the one suing them.
