Spoilers for General Hospital on August 9, 2023: Carly and Olivia reflect on their friendship. Nina and Sonny talk wedding plans. Jordan offers her assistance. Trina makes a move. Marshall visits Curtis.
General Hospital Episode Recap August 9, 2023: Carly & Olivia Heal Their Rift
Olivia is surprised when Carly comes to her office to check up on her. Carly tells her that she's been worried about her with everything going on. Nina sees them talking and makes her presence known before telling Olivia she just wanted to thank her and that they could talk about the other stuff in the morning. After Nina leaves, Carly asks what that was about and Olivia tells her that she is helping Sonny and Nina plan their wedding.
Carly is surprised that they would ask Olivia to do that but Olivia tells her that she offered, not for them but because she needs a distraction from everything going on with Ned. Carly asks how she can help and Olivia can't believe she wants to after the way she treated Carly before but Carly tells her that it's ok. Carly assures her that they are best friends and are good. They hug and reminisce about moments in their friendship and then Carly offers to take Olivia somewhere to have fun and take her mind off of things.
Alexis is upset about a corrupt senator beating the charges against him so Gregory suggests that they go somewhere she can get her frustrations out. He takes her to the axe-throwing bar and they have fun until he becomes fatigued. They sit and talk about his bucket list and life and Alexis comforts him as he cries about all he has lost and will lose as his disease progresses.
Dante is working in an interrogation room for some quiet when Jordan comes in and asks what he is working on. He tells her that it's the MetroCourt pool shooting case and updates her about the gun coming from the WSB. Jordan wonders why the WSB isn't more involved in the case. They talk about her new job and then she leaves to let him work.
Sonny is watching movies with Donna at his penthouse and when she falls asleep he puts a boxing match on, When Nina gets home they talk about his love of boxing and then he asks her why she was late. She tells him that she wanted to talk to Olivia about the wedding plans but she was busy with Carly. Sonny tells her that she doesn't have to try to avoid Carly and they agree to set a wedding date the next day.
Marshall goes to see Curtis and takes out a deck of cards. They play 'Go Fish' like they did when he was a kid and talk about the rehab facility Curtis is supposed to go to. Curtis doesn't want to go because he feels like it would be giving up and accepting being paralyzed but his father does his best to try to change his mind. Jordan comes to visit and Marshall leaves them alone to talk. She asks Curtis if he remembers anything about the events surrounding the shooting. He promises to tell her if anything comes back to him.
Portia is thrilled when Trina comes home with suitcases but is not happy to see Spencer helping her carry things in. Trina goes upstairs to make space in her room and Portia makes it clear to Spencer that he is not welcome. She tells him that with Curtis being paralyzed she needs her daughter's support and needs to spend one on one time with her. She also suggests he may be a danger to her if Sonny was the target of the shooter.
Spencer agrees to leave and wants to go tell Trina goodbye but Portia tells him she will let Trina know he said it. When Trina comes down she is disappointed to see Spencer has left. Portia tells her that he had to take off and was probably thinking more about Ace than her. They talk about Curtis and what has to be done to the house and Trina tells Portia that she wants to help. Portia tells her that he will be in rehab for a while first and isn't sure he will come home after but she is hopeful. Trina confesses to missing her mother and Curtis and they comfort each other with a hug.
