The Young and the Restless Recap for Friday, August 11, 2023:
Today on The Young and the Restless, Sharon gives Adam a warning, Daniel stands his ground and Nate goes rogue at the office.

Summer receives a text message from her mother asking her to meet her in the park. When Daniel arrives, she discovers that her brother received the same note. They are both curious as to what their mother wants. They believe she is looking for a new solution to her problems. Summer, like her brother, believes that their mother is her own worst enemy. She will feel upset if their mother is imprisoned but will not be very concerned. Daniel believes their mother has changed and discovered new ways to move forward. They agree to support one another and confront their mother about her behavior.
Phyllis has set up a table for a meal in the park, where Lauren meets her. She learns that Michael is still out of town dealing with Gloria's legal issues. Phyllis declares that this is a celebration of freedom. She thanks Lauren for her support. Lauren assures her that she and Michael will always be her friends. Phyllis thought Christine would win, but she didn't. Phyllis tells Lauren what an incredible friend she's been. Meanwhile, Lauren hopes Phyllis has learned some lessons from this horrible ordeal. Phyllis promises she's done with that life and is ready for a new one.
When Summer and Daniel get there, they are surprised to see Phyllis with champagne. She reveals that she pleaded guilty, put her heart out to the judge, and ended up with a year of probation and community service. Of course, they are amazed. While Summer is happy that jail time was not her mother's sentence, there's nothing to celebrate. Phyllis promises to change, but it's hard for her children to believe. Lauren requests that they meet Phyllis halfway. Phyllis requests that they list things she can do to rectify things. They walk away, telling her to work things out alone, leaving Phyllis sad but grateful for her friendship with Lauren.

Sharon and Adam go through the new office space they plan to rent at Crimson Lights. She inquires if he has developed a better name for the company. He thinks the name Neman Media has a beautiful ring to it. She reminds him that Victor has already ruled out a merger and she does not like him putting her in such a bind.
Nate meets with Audra in her suite to discuss the merger. He explains that it will take time and he cannot overstep, especially given Nikki's suspicion of him. He assures Audra that he won't betray her and encourages her to find a way to spin things to Adam.

Nikki arrives at the Newman office and vents to Victoria about the Abbotts. She brings up Nate's suggestion and thinks it's a power play. Victoria agrees and explains that Nate is thinking about the future of the company. They debate about how Nate and Audra would fit into a restructuring. When Nikki gets a text from Audra requesting a meeting, she takes off, leaving Nate and Victoria to talk about the merger. Victoria declines the idea, stating that it's impossible for her to get past the Adam factor and doesn't want to make any rash moves right now, and Nate accepts her decision.
When they cross paths, Adam and Audra speak separately as he confides in her about his family issues, including his sister's contempt and his father's potential change of heart. He hopes things are getting along, but Audra informs him that Victoria is not entirely receptive to the merger idea and that Nikki is supporting her. Despite Audra's offer to help him gain control, Adam grows impatient and demands a new plan. As he returns to Sharon, she wonders why he was conversing with Audra. He claims he was merely sizing up the competition, but Sharon warns him that his vengeance against his sister will ruin things for them and she won't have it.
Nikki meets with Audra at the GCAC as requested. Audra asks for feedback on her job performance, but Nikki suspects there’s more. Audra reveals that Adam is aiming for Newman Media, and Nikki warns her that the family opposes the merger. Nikki later confronts Nate about his involvement, and he assures her that the merger is off. Nikki runs to Victoria and tells her what happen. Now she has a gut feeling that Audra and Nate are up to something. Meanwhile, Nate runs to Audra and confronts her. He was going to handle things, but with her stunt, Nikki doesn't trust any of them, and the merger is off. Audra comes to the realization that she's screwed.
