The Young and the Restless Recap for Wednesday, August 2, 2023:
Today on The Young and the Restless, Jack and Diane worry about Kyle, Sharon interrupts a moment between Summer and Chance, and Ashley puts Billy in a tough position.
Y&R Recap Today
Chance asks Sharon to join him for breakfast in the park, knowing she's busy but wanting to spend time with her before things get hectic. Sharon can't make it due to a meeting with Adam but promises to join him for lunch instead.
In bed, Jack brings Diane breakfast. She wonders if she's dreaming or if they are truly married. He says it's true, Mrs. Abbott. He informs her that they can have something more formal and bigger in the fall. She is relieved that they did not postpone their wedding any longer and he promises he won't let go. They agree that whatever Ashley or anyone else throws at them, they will face as a team, forever. Billy congratulates Jack and Diane downstairs but is ready to discuss corporate espionage. He thinks they've made progress and that Ashley believes he's on her side, but he thinks they should take things a step further.
Y&R Recap Today
Ashley is happy she spent the night with Tucker at the GCAC. She's done trying to protect Jack; he's too far gone. Tucker is surprised to learn that she is willing to let Jack and Diane implode on their own while they focus on their venture. Ashley is certain that Diane will do her worst at Jabot. Tucker wishes they could stay in all day, but Ashley says they have too much to do.
Billy strolls into the park recalling his talk with Jack. He makes a call to find out Ashley's location and races off. Downstairs in the GCAC, Ashley and Tucker have breakfast. Ashley points out how great it would be to have Billy on their side and Tucker thinks they should begin the grand persuasion. As Billy walks in, Ashley invites him to join them. Tucker leaves for his meeting with Dominic and Devon. Ashley shares that what Jack is doing is putting the company in a precarious situation. She thinks Jabot is destined to fail unless Jack opens his eyes and sees Diane for who she is. Billy says he doesn't like what Jack is doing and he's not a big fan of Diane. He asks Ashley if she has a plan to save the company. She says yes and asks Billy how far is he willing to go protect what's theirs. Ashley wants Billy to push Diane's buttons in ways she has never been able to and he agrees to think about it.

Devon recalls an important talk with Katherine about Tucker. Tucker highlights to Devon how honored he is to have him as his best man. Devon says he is very happy for him and Ashley and wishes them all the best but Abby is not too thrilled with her mom right now because Ashley is determined to tear down Jabot because she hates Diane. Tucker defends Ashley. He hopes he has dissuaded Ashley from pursuing her more aggressive plans and instead concentrate in a way on their adventure together. Devon admits he thought Tucker was the one pushing Ashley but now he knows better. Tucker says Abby shouldn't be too worried because her mother just doesn't trust Diane and wants to save Jack and the sterling legacy of Jabot.
Tucker returns to join Ashley. She updates him that Billy didn't agree to their plan yet. Tucker tells her that she needs to make things right with Abby.
At the office, Diane looks over some resumes noting that replacing Mariah is going to be tough. Summer arrives and congratulates Jack and Diane on their nuptials. He says they will have a big flashy celebration in the fall and would love for her to be a part of it. He asks how she's doing. Summer says she is fine and is focusing on work. He cannot wait to see what she and Chelsea accomplish together. Summer is stunned to learn that Kyle is on a business trip with Audra in New York. Summer points out that Audra and Kyle are sleeping together. Jack tells her not to assume. Summer shares that Kyle already admitted it. Summer decides to leave to go talk to PR about announcing Chelsea's hiring.
Summer walks into Crimson Lights and runs into Chance, who is on his way to his picnic. He invites her to accompany him. When they arrive, Summer expresses her surprise at knowing that Kyle and Audra are on a work trip together. She knows Kyle has moved on, but when will she let it go, when will she get to a better place? Chance thinks she will get there just like he did after things with Abby. Even if Kyle shows up and forgives her, she doesn't believe they can return to where they were because so much has changed.
Chance admires Summer for taking the courageous step of realizing that reconciliation with Kyle is unlikely. Sharon arrives. She rescheduled her meeting because she felt horrible that he had gone to all that trouble for a picnic and she had turned him down. She came to find him and is astonished to see Summer in her place. Summer is about to depart when Sharon invites her to stay. Summer must go to work. Sharon believes it's great that Chance can be there for Summer now that she needs someone to talk to. Chance states that he does not wish to discuss Summer at this time. Sharon expresses that seeing him is the highlight of her day. Her life is expanding in ways she never dreamed of, but she must not let business get in the way of what is most important to her. They kiss.
Summer returns to the office and hands Jack the news release announcing Chelsea's hire. Jack asks if she's okay. She replies, No, but she intends to be. Finally, she is beginning to understand that her relationship with Kyle is over. She can move on if he can. Billy arrives and informs Jack and Diane that Ashley has approached him with a request to join their version of their scheme as a Trojan horse. Diane feels irritated that everything revolves around her. She believes that is a good thing, and they must figure out how to take advantage of it.
