The Young and the Restless Recap for Tuesday, August 29, 2023:

Today on The Young and the Restless, Tucker causes tension between Jack and Billy, Mariah and Tessa receive news about Aria, and Ashley sees a new side to Diane.

Devon arrives after Tessa's call. He senses they might be anxious, so he seeks to calm them down and inquire about the situation. They reveal that their child's pediatrician conducted some tests, and there is a confirmed hearing problem with Aria. Further tests are required, but Devon's prior experience with such issues is known to them. Tessa requests that he guide them and share his knowledge, which Mariah is uncertain about, but Devon readily agrees to assist.

Devon shares his story with the others, as Mariah expresses concern about Aria's inability to hear her mother's lovely voice. The Audiologist, Dr. George, arrives and Devon recognizes her from his care team at Memorial many years ago when he received a Cochlear implant. Dr. George remembers him but mentions that she now specializes in pediatrics. Devon then departs.

Dr. George informs the mothers of the test results. The findings indicate hearing loss linked to the auditory nerve deep inside the ear. However, it's still too early to draw conclusions. The condition is treatable but not curable. Dr. George suggests trying a hearing aid first, as she has seen positive outcomes in infants and toddlers. If that doesn't work, they can consider other options like a Cochlear implant. Tessa is concerned they did something wrong that led to Aria's condition. However, Dr. George explains that Aria's condition may be genetic and asks if they have any knowledge of her biological parents' medical history. They say that they can reach out to Aria's biological mother to find out. Dr. George advises the mothers not to worry too much because Aria needs them.

Jack and Billy are having a conversation at home about how peaceful the place has been lately when Tucker arrives. He inquires if they missed him and states he is there to collect some of his belongings. Tucker also promises that he and Ashley will soon be out of their hair. As they discuss business, Tucker mentions that Ashley was currently focused on achieving peace and prosperity, and he was there to support her every step of the way. Tucker further shared that he had noticed how the war between Ashley and Jack was affecting her, and it was becoming unhealthy. He helped her see the negative impact it was having on her life. Tucker goes on to say, "Can I let you in on a little secret, Jack?" and adds, "All this time that you were worried about me, what I was gonna do, your real threat was a little closer to home." Jack assumes he is talking about Ashley, but Tucker says he is referring to Billy, who was ready to sell out Jack for control of Jabot.

Jack cannot believe it. Billy accuses Tucker of lying. Tucker reminds Billy that he didn't turn them down when they approached him. Jack reprimands Tucker for creating tension between him and his brother. As Tucker leaves, Jack tells Billy, "It's a good thing I trust you; he made a hell of a case." Billy wonders what Jack means and makes it clear that he is not trying to steal Jabot; he was just being the Trojan horse as asked, and Jack should trust him. Billy is angry and walks out on Jack.

When Tucker returns downstairs, Jack unleashes on him. Jack says whatever tension is between Ashley and him, they will deal with it and advises that Tucker will never be any part of his family. Jack warns him that if he hurts or causes heartache for Ashley in any way, he will destroy him. Jack says, "That is not a threat, that is a promise you can take to the bank." Tucker advises Jack not to push him because he does not want to cross him. He then takes his things and leaves. 







During their lunch at Society, Ashley tells Abby that she and Tucker are moving out of the Abbott manse and searching for office space. Abby worries that this may restart the feud with Jack. However, Ashley assures her daughter that it's not the case. Ashley also admits to still despising Diane, but when Diane suddenly appears and offers to end the conflict, Ashley explodes and tells her that despite marrying Jack, she will never be a true Abbott family member. Just as Abby receives a call from Devon and leaves, Ashley starts choking on a piece of fruit. Luckily, Diane comes to her sister-in-law's aid and saves her life. This experience has a profound impact on both women. Ashley thanks Diane. Diane tries to continue to help Ashley by offering to call Tucker or Abby but Ashley says she is fine. Diane then offers to take Ashley to the club and she agrees. 

At the club, Tucker notices Diane bringing Ashley in and becomes curious about what's happening. Diane advises him that Ashley needs to see a doctor and departs. Tucker queries Ashley about her health, but she insists she's fine and suggests they go upstairs. Ashley expresses disbelief as she recounts how Diane saved her life. Although Diane believes she should get checked out, Ashley confirms she's physically fine, but her mental and emotional state is another matter. She says, "I don't know what to do with this mentally and emotionally, the woman that I hate more than anybody on the planet just saved my life."

Abby and Dom meet with Devon at the park. Abby inquires about Devon's recent visit to Mariah and Tessa's place. Devon shares some distressing news about Aria. He recounts his own family's frightening experience in the past. Abby is grateful for the presence of such a kind and compassionate man and pledges to support Tessa and Mariah in any way possible. Shortly after Dr. George departs, Abby and Devon visit Mariah and Tessa to learn about Dr. George's findings. They offer their unwavering support to the moms.

Jack leaves Billy a message apologizing for their earlier disagreement and suggests they meet for a drink. Meanwhile, Diane arrives home and shocks Jack with the news that she has saved Ashley's life. However, when Billy sees Jack's message, he deletes the message and continues drinking.
