Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on Tuesday, September 19, 2023: Belle panics when Shawn goes missing. Rafe questions Tripp about a shocking discovery. Ava and Harris search for Susan in London. Wendy snoops on EJ.
Days of Our Lives Episode Recap Tuesday, September 19, 2023: Wendy and Tripp Get Caught
In London, Ava watches the local news and is relieved there's nothing about her and Harris on it. She wonders if it's a trick though and if the cops are closing in on them. Harris tells her that no one is closing in but she's not sure about that. He tells her that tomorrow they will start looking for Susan but Ava points out that London is a big place and wonders if they made a mistake coming there.
Harris asks what mistake they made and Ava tells him that they went there because she had visions of Susan and she might just be crazy. Harris tells her that she convinced him it was real visions of Susan but Ava asks why she would contact her. Harris says Susan contacted her so they have to follow up. He tells her that he has a good feeling and it's going to work out.
Ava tries to communicate with Susan and gets nothing. She freaks out and Harris calms her down. He tells her that she's a Vitali and she needs to act like one. Ava doesn't like that but goes to the bathroom to get changed for bed, slamming the door behind her. When she comes out of the bathroom she can't help but notice Harris in his underwear. She checks him out and they share a charged look across the bed.
Days Recap Today
Wendy goes to see Tripp at work and asks if he has heard from Ava. He tells her that he hasn't and says that it's probably too risky for her to contact him. Wendy tells him that she hopes that they can find Susan and Tripp agrees. He thanks her for helping his mother and she says she did it because of how much she cares for him.
Tripp promises to let her know if he hears anything and Wendy tells him that she is going to work. Tripp is worried about her being at DiMera but she says she is just going to do a little fishing and she'll be fine. After she leaves, Tripp gets a call from Rafe asking him to come to the Salem PD.
Days Recap Today
Jada tells Rafe that a witness saw Ava and Harris outside of Tripp's apartment. He tells her that she's been working all night and she needs to go home and rest and he will follow up on the lead. She doesn't want to but he insists. She agrees to leave as long as he agrees to call if he gets something big. Rafe agrees and Jada goes home.
When Tripp gets there Rafe tells him that Ava was seen outside of his building the night before. He asks if Tripp saw her and he admits that he did. He tells Rafe that when he got home, Ava and Harris were there. He tells him that they talked for a bit and then they left out the fire escape. Rafe asks if he knows where went and Tripp says he can't say. Rafe asks, can't or won't.
Tripp asks if he can go and Rafe tells him no and threatens him with obstruction charges before leaving him in the interrogation room. Jada comes back to the PD and tells Rafe she checked out a lead at Tripp's building and gives him an envelope with evidence she found. Rafe goes back into the interrogation room and tells Tripp that he could be charged with aiding and abetting. He gives him the envelope and tells him to open it and when Tripp does he finds the pages Wendy ripped out of their passports.

EJ is on the phone, telling the woman who he hired to kill Ava to calm down and let him handle everything. Nicole comes in and he ends the call. She tells him that they need to talk and he thinks she is there because of his message. He tells her that he needs her help as a consultant because profits are down. She agrees to help him but first, she wants to know if he tried to have Ava killed.
EJ tries to deny it but Nicole doesn't believe him, especially because he is representing the woman who Ava shot. She thinks he hired the woman to kill Ava and is representing her to keep her quiet. She tells him that she deserves to know what is going on because she is having his child in a few months.
EJ apologizes for stonewalling her and says he is just trying to protect her. Nicole is worried that Rafe suspects him and that he will cut a deal with the woman to turn on EJ. EJ promises her that he won't risk what they have for anything. Wendy knocks on the door and Nicole goes to do the research he wanted so they can talk.
Wendy shows him a proposal she was working on for a system-wide upgrade and tells him she wanted to make sure she was on the right track. While he is looking it over she pretends to read the news about Ava on her phone and talks to him about it. EJ cuts her off and goes back to reading while Wendy looks at him suspiciously.
After EJ finishes reading her proposal he tells her that it's good but he needs more time to think about it. She apologizes for overstepping about Ava but he tells her that it's. He has a meeting to go to but asks her to look at his computer mouse because it's acting up. She agrees and after he leaves, Wendy realizes that he left his phone behind. She is trying to figure out how to get into it when EJ comes back and catches her!

Belle arrives at the Pub to meet Eric after getting a message from him. He asks her to be his and Sloan's lawyer to help them with the adoption process. Belle agrees to represent them but Eric can tell that she's distracted and asks what's wrong. She confides in him that Shawn didn't come home the night before. Upstairs, Shawn wakes up in bed with Talia and is horrified with himself.
Talia wakes up and freaks out as well. Shawn takes the blame but she says it was her too. Shawn checks his phone and sees the missed texts and the call from Belle and worries that she thinks he's dead. They talk about the things he told her about him and Belle and he can't believe he told Talia so much. Downstairs, Belle tells Eric what happened with Shawn and Rafe and then the fight she got into with him.
Eric can't believe Shawn brought up Belle's affair with EJ. Belle gets a notification that Shawn got her texts and wonders why she isn't getting back to him. Eric thinks he may be embarrassed by how he acted. Belle is worried that Shawn hasn't actually forgiven her for her affair and that it might be part of why he's drinking. Eric hugs her and reminds her that it was the alcohol talking and not actually Shawn. He advises her to not engage if Shawn is drunk and Belle leaves to get some air.
Upstairs, Talia tries to make Shawn feel better but it doesn't work. He feels like he took advantage of her but she tells him it was both of them. Talia feels bad after everything Belle did for her. Shawn feels immense guilt and has no idea how to tell Belle what he did. He gets dressed and tells Talia he has to tell Belle where he is. He asks her not to say anything until he figures out how to tell Belle what happened. They say goodbye and he leaves.
Shawn comes downstairs and sees Eric. Eric asks why he is there and Shawn lies and tells him that Jada had to work all night so she let him crash in her room because he was drunk. Eric asks about Talia and Shawn tells him that she was working at the hospital all night. Talia overhears them and goes out the back so she can come in and pretend she just got there.
Shawn pretends to introduce himself to Talia before leaving to find Belle. Talia goes upstairs and Jada comes in. She expresses her condolences about the baby to Eric and he thanks her. He also thanks her for letting Shawn sleep in her room when he was drunk the night before. Jada covers and goes upstairs. She finds Talia changing the sheets and asks her if she slept with Shawn.
