Days of Our Lives Episode Recap, Cast List, and Spoilers for Wednesday, September 6, 2023: Harris Makes A Shocking Move
Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on Wednesday, September 6, 2023: Johnny throws a wrench in EJ’s plan. Tripp and Wendy meet at the Salem Inn for a special night. Harris helps Ava but puts them both in a bad situation. Rafe learns there is trouble at Bayview.
Days of Our Lives Episode Recap Wednesday, September 6, 2023: Harris Makes A Shocking Move
Harris and Joyce wrestle for the gun and it falls. Ava picks it up and shoots Joyce. Joyce calls her a bitch before collapsing on the bed. Harris checks on her and tells Ava that she's still breathing. A security guard bursts into the room with his gun drawn. He calls for backup but Ava refuses to lower her weapon. She tries to explain to the guard that it was self-defense but he doesn't want to hear it. Harris tells her to drop the gun.
Ava tells him that she can't go to jail and she will shoot the guard if she has to. She is convinced that they will never believe it was self-defense. Harris talks to her and convinces her to give him the gun and the guard lowers his weapon. Haris aims the gun at the guard and tells him they are leaving before they leave the room quickly.
EJ is texting Joyce for an update and is frustrated that he hasn't heard from her. Johnny overhears him and asks what he is waiting for. EJ remembers his conversation with Joyce in the park and then lies to Johnny. He tells him that Gabi sideswiped one of his cars and he is waiting to hear back from the repair shop. He rages against Gabi but Johnny tells him to calm down because it's not life or death.
EJ and Johnny talk about the baby and EJ questions if Johnny would want to have kids with Chanel. He asks if Johnny took Nicole's advice and told Chanel how he feels. Johnny tells him about Talia interrupting them before he could tell Chanel how he felt about her. EJ encourages him to fight for Chanel.
Johnny is surprised that EJ is team Chanel and EJ tells him that he changed his mind about Chanel and that no matter how many flaws she may have, she is much better than Ava. Johnny tries to explain to his father that Ava is mentally ill but EJ still wants her punished. They agree to change the subject and EJ again encourages him to pursue Chanel.
Jada goes into Rafe's office and tells him that she thinks her turning down the commissioner's job was a mistake. She reminds him that he told her it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for her and Rafe tells her that he understands. She says that if he really means that then he is sitting in her seat. Rafe starts to get up but Jada laughs and tells him she was just messing with him.
They are kissing in the office and Rafe tells her that she should be the commissioner. He tells her that if she wants the job it should be hers. Jada makes it clear that she doesn't want the job and they start kissing again. Jada suggests that they go back to his house but Rafe gets a call about the shooting at Bayview. He tells Jada and they leave together to investigate.
After their bowling date, Chanel and Talia go back to Chanel's place. Talia asks if Paulina would be ok with her being there and Chanel tells her that Paulina is on a date with Abe and they have the place to themselves. They talk about their date and Talia thanks Chanel for giving her a second chance and they kiss.
They get interrupted by a call from Kayla telling Talia she needs to meet with her as soon as possible. Talia is convinced that Kayla is going to give her bad news about the job but Chanel thinks she is worrying for nothing. She tells Talia that she believes in her and that she needs to believe in herself. Talia thanks her and leaves to go talk to Kayla.
Tripp asks Kayla about the mystery man and she tells him that Black Patch is on the case. He tells her that he needs her help with his date with Wendy. She thinks he wants to borrow the apartment so they won't be interrupted again and tells him that she will let Steve know but Tripp tells her that he got them a room at the Salem Inn. He asks her to take his phone and only call the room at the Inn if there is an actual emergency.
Wendy greets Tripp when he gets to their room at the Salem Inn. She tells him she's been there for a few hours making sure everything would go perfectly. They both knock on wood so that nothing interrupts their night and then kiss. There is a knock on the door and they get nervous but it's just room service. Wendy puts the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door and Tripp starts to open the champagne but Wendy has other ideas.
They kiss and undress each other before moving to the bed and making love. After, they snuggle in bed and they both admit they were starting to think it would never happen but Wendy says it was worth the wait and they kiss again.
Talia arrives at the hospital and assumes that Kayla is giving her bad news about the job but Kayla tells her that the board agreed to hire her on a provisional basis. Talia is overjoyed and promises to not let Kayla down. At the hospital, Rafe puts out an APB on Ava and Harris and Kayla gives them an update about Joyce. She tells them that her injury is bad and they are taking her to surgery.
Rafe says they need to speak to her as soon as they can. Kayla promises to keep them updated. Rafe finds out that Joyce doesn't work at Bayview and Jada notices that her phone is a burner. She says there is only one number but it's blocked. They read the text messages but have no idea it was EJ who sent them. EJ gets a notification about a shooting at Bayview and thinks Ava is dead. Kayla contemplates calling Tripp but decides that it can wait.
Chanel is surprised when Johnny shows up at her door. He tells her that he's been trying to tell her for a while that he's still in love with her and he can't keep quiet about it anymore. Before Chanel can reply Talia comes back to tell her that she got the job at the hospital. Talia is surprised to see Johnny there but he says that he has to go. He congratulates Talis before he leaves and she asks Chanel if she's ok. Chanel tells her that she is as she watches Johnny leave.
Harris and Ava run into the park and Ava tells him that she doesn't know if anyone else is after her but she is not going to the police. Harris tells her that he has another idea and she follows him out of the park. They get into a motel room after Harris steals a key from the desk clerk. Harris questions who might have sent Joyce after her. They agree it was a hit but Ava says that it wasn't the mob, it was EJ.
