The Young and the Restless Recap for Monday, September 11, 2023:

Today on The Young and the Restless, Victor gives Adam a wake-up call, Nikki keeps Nate on his toes, Sally is bothered by Sharon and Nick’s bond.

Y&R Recap Today

Sharon makes her pitch to Nick about him working with her at Kirsten. He tells her that he hasn’t made up his mind yet about if he’s going to take the job at Newman or not but she thinks he’d be better off working with her. She tells him that he should follow his instincts, no matter where they take him. Nick tells her that he thinks if he takes the job at Newman, that he can hold things together there, and if he doesn’t all hell could break loose. 

Sharon tries to convince him that it’s not his job to hold everything together for the family. She reminds him that they’ve always worked well together and he tells her that he’s not disagreeing with anything she’s saying, but it’s a big decision and he needs more time to think everything through. Sally thinks that’s a good idea. Sharon leaves to go check on Mariah and Aria and Sally and Nick discuss his options. 

He admits that Adam not working at Newman is a plus for him. Sally feels badly for Adam and Nick tells her not to. She argues that he’s devastated by all of the loss he suffered between the baby and Newman Media. Nick says that Adam has caused a lot of bad karma for himself and everyone around him. Sally cuts him off and asks if he saying that Adam deserves the loss. Nick tells her that that’s not what he meant. 

He tries to explain that Adam has caused so much pain that it is inevitable that he would feel pain himself. Sally tells him that she’s caused a lot of pain as well and asks if her pain was inevitable as well. Nick apologizes for saying it and asks if they can change the subject. They talk about Sally’s new company and her excitement about it. 

Y&R Recap Today

Sharon goes to the Chancellor estate to check on Mariah and Aria. They talk about Tessa‘s photo shoot and Maria tells her that she thinks she made a mistake by bringing Aria there. She says that Abby and Devon were very sweet to offer but she never should’ve taken Aria out of her own environment. She doesn’t think the baby is comfortable there. 

Sharon assures her that babies are adaptable and tells her that she’s worried about her and everything that she’s going through. She tells Mariah that she has good instincts and is a really good mom. Sharon assures her that no matter what they’ll get through everything as a family. Maria shares all of her fears about all of the what if's she’s facing and Sharon tries to get her to calm down and take things one day at a time, 

Mariah says she needs a distraction and asks Sharon to tell her about the business. She’s very excited when Sharon tells her that Victor gave her Kirsten back free and clear. Mariah congratulates her and Sharon tells her that she’s counting on her to help her make the company a success. Mariah asks how Adam figures into things and Sharon tells her that he doesn’t. She says from now on she’s doing things strictly on her own unless she’s lucky enough to have Nick by her side.

Y&R Recap Today

Adam is surprised to see Victor at his door. He thinks he’s there to gloat but Victor tells him that he’s not. Adam asks if he’s had a change of heart and is there to apologize and Victor tells him that he’s there as his father to see how he’s doing. Adam is surprised that Victor’s there to check on him after he took the business away from him. Victor is shocked that Adam can’t take responsibility for the havoc he caused. 

Adam accepts all the blame and admits all of his faults and wrongdoings to Victor. Victor tells Adam that he’s his son and he loves him and asks where they go from there. Adam asked Victor to give him another chance. He tells him that he wants to start at the bottom and work his way up, rise, and fall on his own merits. Victor realizes he’s serious, but says that there’s one problem. 

Victor is worried that Adam‘s dark side will take over again and undo any good that he accomplishes. Adam tries to assure him that that won’t happen and Victor tells him that he has to think about it. Adam tells him that’s all he can ask. Before leaving, Victor tells him that if he’s sincere he’s very impressed and that he’ll be in touch.

Y&R Recap Today

Nick goes to Chancellor Park to think about the decision he has to make. He remembers his first day of working with his father and the day that he and Sharon closed on the coffeehouse. Adam interrupts his thoughts and tries to offer sincere congratulations on Nick’s new position at Newman. Nick is skeptical, but Adam maintains that he really means it. 

He tells Nick about his conversation with Victor and Nick tells him that Victor has an eternal optimism that Adam can be redeemed. Adam’s not so sure about that. Nick tells Adam that he’s never sure of what he’s going to get with him. He tells him that he thinks it would be great to have a brother that he could count on to get his back but that every time he thinks that he and Adam are getting to a good place, Adam does something to blow it up. Adam says that he’s never going to be able to convince him that he’s sincere, all he can do is show him. Adam says that in a weird way, Victor set the stage for them to all figure out what they really want and wondered if that was his plan all along.

Y&R Recap Today

Victoria gets back from her trip to LA and Nate comes to see her in the office. She tells them about how her night went talking to Nick and Victor, and then tells him she had insomnia. He tells her that he’s happy that her night was busy and the reason he didn’t see her wasn't the alternative. She asks what he means and he tells her that he was worried that she was still avoiding him. 

Victoria tells him that she’s surprised he felt that way because they had gotten past everything and were in a good place. Nate agrees but tells her that everything happened so fast and then she left so he couldn’t help but wonder. He asks if they’re still good And Victoria comes around the desk and kisses him passionately before asking if that shows him that they’re in a good place. She tells him about her conversation with Victor and tells him that they worked things out. 

He asks about Nick coming back to Newman Media and wants to know if he’s going to try to get him fired. Before Victoria can answer Nikki walks in and asks if she’s interrupting anything. Nikki updates Victoria on how the transition is going with Newman Media. Nate tells Nikki that he thinks she’ll do a wonderful job running Newman Media. She thanks him but says the transition isn’t complete yet.  She says they still need to get Nick to accept her old position in Newman Enterprises and then everything will be as it should be. 

Victor comes in and they talk about Nick’s reluctance to take the job. Nikki proposes that Nate step down to make Nick more comfortable. Victor tells her that they need to hold off on that and see what Nick decides. He tells Victoria that they have a meeting. She gives her mother an unhappy look before following her father out of the office. Nikki asks Nate what he would’ve done if Victor had agreed with her about his stepping down. 

Nate tells her that he would’ve done it if Victor and Victoria had asked him to. Nikki is skeptical, and Nate asks what he has to do to make her believe that he’s sincere. Nikki tells him that if he steps down without having to be asked, then she might believe him. Nate tells her that he doesn’t see the point in him stepping aside now until they know what Nick’s going to do. She thought that would be his answer. Victor and Victoria come back from their meeting and then Nick comes in and tells them that he’s not taking the job. He’s going to be working at Kirsten with Sharon.

Y&R Recap Today

Sally goes back to her hotel room and starts sketching. Adam knocks on the door and she lets him in. They talk about her new company and he tells her that she’s going to hit it out of the park. He says that he’s very happy for her and that he knows she needs this. She asks him if he needs something too and he tells her not to worry about him. Sally tells him that she’s sorry, but she does. Adam tells her that he has a plan and he’s very close to making it happen.
