Days of Our Lives Episode Recap, Cast List, and Spoilers for Thursday, October 12, 2023: Heartbreak for Shawn and Belle
Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on Thursday, October 12, 2023: Philip tells an emotional Belle about his and Chloe’s plans. Belle reveals Shawn cheated on her. Shawn gives Talia some assurance. Belle tells Shawn she wants to discuss saving their marriage. Chloe says an emotional goodbye to Brady. Kate reminds Philip his obsession with Chloe almost destroyed him. Justin pays Alex a visit. Maggie receives a visitor, an old friend of Victor’s. Brady rips into Alex.
Days of Our Lives Episode Recap Thursday, October 12, 2023: Heartbreak for Shawn and Belle
Chloe goes to see Brady and tells him that she is moving to New York. Brady asks if she is leaving because of what happened with Xander and she tells him that it plays into it but she wants to be close to Parker too. He understands that with how happy he is that Tate is home with him. He is surprised to find out that Philip is going too and asks if they are back together. She tells him that they aren't but admits that they still have feelings for each other. She tells him that she understands him not liking it after everything Philip did to them but Brady tells her that all he wants is for her to be happy.
Brady tells her that he isn't surprised because Philip was her first love and you never get over that. Chloe doesn't think that's true but Brady tells her that she was his first love and he doesn't think he will ever get over her. Brady apologizes for everything that happened when she was with him but she tells him that she doesn't blame him or regret any time they spent together. She tells him that he will always be in her heart and he says the same to her before they share a hug. They say they are going to miss each other and he wishes her the best life before they say goodbye.
After Chloe leaves, Marlena comes out and asks Brady if someone is there because she heard voices and thought he had company. He tells her that Chloe was just there and she asks if he is okay. He tells her that he will miss Chloe but that he is fine. He gets a message from work and is very unhappy with what it says.
Days Recap Today
Alex is at home, reading The Spectator when Justin knocks on his door. Alex asks what he is doing there and Justin asks if a father can just come visit his son. Alex gets them each a beer and Justin tells him that no matter what he is his father and that will never change. Alex tells him that he feels the same way and is thankful for him and his brothers. Justin is happy to hear him say that and asks about Maggie.
Justin thinks Alex booted her for payback but Alex assures him that's not the case and that his offer of another job at Titan for Maggie was sincere. Justin apologizes for being so accusatory. Alex understands and tells Justin that he is still him, he is just trying to come to terms with his new reality.
Justin asks if Alex plans on taking control of the mansion but Alex tells him no and reminds him that he only owns half of it anyway. Justin asks if he is going to move back in but Alex tells him that he's not sure. Justin tells him that he would like him to and Alex promises to think about it. Justin tells him that he's proud of how Alex is handling things and promises to let him know if he sees him changing. They hug before Justin leaves to go to work.
Brady goes to Alex's to confront him over quitting Basic Black so abruptly. Alex tells him that he's sorry about how he handled everything but he has been dealing with a lot. Brady understands that and Alex tells him that he will make it up to him. Brady is curious and Alex tells him that he should bring Basic Black to Titan when his deal with DiMera is up. He promises Brady a better deal than he ever had with DiMera. Brady says that first he stabbed him in the back and now he wants to own him. "You really are Victor's son, aren't you?" Brady adds.
Days Recap Today
Maggie is surprised when Victor's childhood friend, Konstantin, comes to visit her. He expresses his condolences and tells her that he has brought her a gift. It's a photo album with photos of Victor as a child. Maggie is very touched but doesn't feel she can accept it. Konstantin tells her that Victor lent him the money for his restaurant and refused to let him pay back the money or even give him free meals. Maggie thanks him and asks if he is going back to Greece but he tells her that he is staying in Salem for a while to explore it and asks for recommendations for a cheap motel.
Maggie insists that he stay at the mansion with them and tells him that his gift made her feel closer to Victor than she has since he died. She refuses to take no for an answer so Konstantin agrees to stay. When Justin gets home she introduces him to Konstantin and tells Justin that he will be staying with them. Justin looks concerned but doesn't say anything.
Days Recap Today
Belle and Philip are having coffee at the Pub and he tells her that he is moving to New York with Chloe. She is sad but he tells her that it's not far away and she and Shawn can come visit all the time. Belle tells him that she doesn't see that happening because she thinks her marriage is over. Philip doesn't understand and Belle tells him that Shawn cheated on her with Talia. He is shocked and Belle says that it might be her karma like Sami warned her about after she slept with EJ.
Philip tells her that Shawn isn't like that and that she should try to work things out because they love each other. He encourages her to not give up on her marriage and to talk to Shawn immediately. Before she leaves she asks if she will see him again before he goes and he says probably not but promises to keep in touch. After she is gone Kate comes in and walks by him without acknowledging him.
Philip asks if Kate is just going to ignore him and she says that she wishes she could ignore that he is moving to New York with Chloe. Kate is worried about what happened the last time when he became obsessed and says that Chloe did that to him. Philip tells her not to blame Chloe because he is the one who did the bad things on his own. He promises Kate that he is better due to her and Victor getting him the help he needed.
Kate tries to change his mind about going but finally concedes and they share a hug. Chloe comes in and Kate tells her that Philip told her about their plans and if he is happy then she is happy. Chloe is pleasantly surprised and Kate tells them she will let them get to their planning. Philip promises to stop by before they leave tomorrow and Kate tells Chloe to be careful with her son's heart before walking away.
Chloe is surprised at how well that went and Philip is surprised when she tells him that Brady wished them both well. Philip tells her about his talk with Belle and Chloe feels bad for her. They agree that they are leaving together with no expectations but a whole lot of hope.

Shawn is on the phone at the Salem PD, thanking someone for accommodating him on short notice and telling them he has to get his life under control. As he hangs up Talia comes in and tells him that she thought they should talk since Belle knows what happened. He apologizes but she tells him that it wasn't his fault. She feels badly for affecting his marriage but he tells her that it is all on him. Talia tells him that they both made mistakes that night and covers his hand with her before telling him that he is a good man.
Belle comes in and sees them and they jump apart. Belle tells Talia she needs to talk to her husband and Talia leaves them alone. Shawn tries to explain what she walked in on but Belle says that she's not there to talk about Talia. She tells him that she's there to talk about fixing their marriage because she wants to forgive him. She thinks that if they work at it they can do it and thinks that their family is worth it. Shawn tells her that he is so happy to hear her say that because he didn't think she would ever be able to forgive him. but he's not going to be there to fix their marriage.
Shawn tells her that he found an outpatient treatment facility near where Bo is getting care. She offers to go with him but he tells her that he is going to be gone for more than just a couple of months. She asks how long it will be and he tells her that he will be gone for as long as it takes to get his head on straight and he has to do it without her. He tries to explain that he can't work on himself and their marriage at the same time.
Belle doesn't understand why he wants his mother and sister there for him but not her and he tells her that's not what will be happening. He says he needs to be there for them, face what he has done, and work on himself. She asks if he is going to come home to her after he does that and he tells her that he wants that more than anything before they share a tearful hug.
