Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on October 2, 2023: Gwen confronts Leo. Vivian intervenes with Dimitri. Jada and Shawn come to blows. Belle turns to Marlena for support.
Days of Our Lives Episode Recap October 2, 2023: Marlena Figures Out the Truth!
Shawn is at the Salem PD on the phone with Belle and Jada overhears him telling her that he is determined to get his life back on track so he can be the husband that she deserves. He invites her to dinner after work and suggests that they go to Look-Out Point like they did in high school. Belle laughingly tells him maybe. After he hangs up he is surprised to see Jada because he thought she was in London with Rafe.
Jada tells him that she came back because Rafe thought one of them should be in Salem. Shawn offers to get her caught up to speed on what's been going on but Jada tells him that they need to clear the air about him sleeping with her sister first. They go into the interrogation room and Shawn wants to know how she found out. Jada tells him about what Eric told her and how she figured it out. She tells him that he has to get it together and stop hurting everyone, most importantly his wife.
He tells her how sorry he is and she asks if he's planning on telling Belle. He's not sure if he should or how. Jada gets a message about a shooting at the DiMera mansion and tells him that she has to go. Shawn says he will go with her but she says she would rather he didn't. He reminds her that they are partners and need to work together and she relents and agrees to let him come with her.
Days Recap Today
Marlena is in her office, on the phone with Kate, and Kate is updating her about what happened with Maggie and Vivian. Talia knocks on her door so Marlena hangs up to talk to her. She thanks Talia for being on time and Talia tells her that she thinks she needs to find another therapist. Marlena is concerned that Talia isn't getting help from their sessions but Talia assures her that's not the problem. Marlena wonders if it's because they are now colleagues and Talia says that is the reason.
Marlena tells her that she has treated other colleagues without issue before but she understands if it is an issue for Talia. She wonders what effect it will have on her court order for therapy so Talia tells her that they can continue. Marlena is happy and asks her to sit down so they can begin their appointment. Talia updates her about her new job and the break up with Chanel. Talia also confesses to her that she got drunk and did something stupid and self-destructive.
She says she slept with a married man but doesn't tell her who it was. She tells her about how it happened and how bad she feels. Belle comes in and interrupts. She apologizes and offers to come back but Talia tells her that she has to get back to work. She thanks Marlena before leaving and Belle apologizes to Marlena for just coming in. Marlena tells her that she was going to reach out to her and asks how things are going with Shawn. Belle tells her that's why she's there.
Belle tells Marlena about their fight and tells her about Shawn crashing at the Pub afterward. Marlena remembers what Talia said and realizes that Shawn is the married man she slept with. Belle tells Marlena that she thinks they've turned a corner and Marlena urges her to be cautious. After Belle leaves Marlena calls Talia back to her office and confronts her about sleeping with Shawn.

Leo cleans the pie off his face and tries to tell Gwen that he wasn't with Dimitri but she tells him that she saw them going at it in Greenland. She tells him to try to lie to her again and he admits that he has been sleeping with her husband. Leo is shocked when Gwen punches him in the face. Leo admits that he deserved the pie in the face and the punch but tells Gwen that he never meant to hurt her.
Gwen doesn't understand how he came to be sleeping with Dimitri when he hated him so much before and Leo tells her the story of what happened. She tells him that she knows about the codicil and Leo says he was shocked to find out that Dimitri was gay and actually attracted to him. Gwen tells him that it worked because Dimitri screwed them both.
Gwen is hurt that Leo betrayed her and Leo tries to tell her how hard it was for him and pleads Dimitri's case to her. Gwen thinks that they thought she was stupid and Leo doesn't really care about her but he promises her that isn't the case. He tells her that he loves Dimitri and she tells him that she hopes their love is real because that will be all they have. She tells him that they won't have a cent of the money because she is taking her revenge with Kristen's help.
Gwen shows him the check for the money she withdrew from Dimitri's account and tells him that Dimitri is lucky that is all she took. Leo asks what she means and she tells him about Kristen's idea to kill him. Leo can't believe Kristen would go that far but Gwen assures him that she would. Gwen tells him that Dimitri is lucky she intervened. She tells Leo that she is going to divorce Dimitri and he will lose his inheritance. Leo gets a call from the hospital telling him Dimitri has been shot and he says he will be right there. Before he leaves he tells Gwen he knows she's behind it and she will pay for it if he dies.

Stefan and Gabi try to talk Stefan out of killing them but he is determined. Stefan tries to shield Gabi and a shot rings out. They realize that neither of them was hit and turn around in time to see Dimitri fall and Vivian standing behind him with a gun in her hand. Vivian steps over Dimitri's body and asks if Stefan is alright before hugging him. He tells her that he is thanks to her and she says that she always had perfect timing.
Stefan checks on Dimitri and wants to call for help because he is bleeding badly but Gabi thinks they should let him die after he tried to kill him. Vivian hates admitting that she agrees with Gabi but she does it. Stefan insists that they need to get him help even if it's just to get control of his stocks. Gabi tells Dimitri that they will let him bleed out if he doesn't sign his stock shares over to him and he finally agrees. After he signs Vivian thinks they should let him die but Stefan tells him that he is a man of his word and will get him help.
After the ambulance takes Dimitri away they talk about what to tell the police. Stefan thinks they should tell the truth but Vivian disagrees. She tells them that she isn't supposed to have a gun and begs them to protect her since she just saved their lives. Jada and Shawn arrive and asked what happened. Stefan tells her that they were upstairs and heard a gunshot. He says that when they came downstairs they found Dimitri bleeding and alone. They say Vivian just arrived. Jada asks if they know anyone who would want to hurt Dimitri and Stefan says that they have no idea. After the police leave, Vivian thanks Stefan for covering for her. She tells them about what happened with Maggie and tells them all she has left is Stefan.

Leo gets to the hospital, rushes over to Talia, and asks for an update on Dimitri. Talia tells him that he was just taken into surgery and she will update him once she knows more. Gwen arrives and Leo demands to know what she's doing there. Gwen swears she had nothing to do with it and says she is there to confront Dimitri for what he did to her. Leo tells her that's not going to happen because he is the man he loves and he will protect him.
Gwen is sad because Leo betrayed her worse than anything they have ever done to each other. Leo admits he messed up and tells her he will do anything he can do to fix it. He begs her to tell him what he can do and she tells him that there is nothing he can do because their friendship is over. Talia comes over and tells Leo that Dimitri is out of surgery and he can see him and Gwen tells him to go because they have nothing left to say to each other. Leo sits by Dimitri's bedside and declares his love while he holds his hand and waits for him to wake up. In the lobby Gwen tries to call Kristen, praying she isn't the one who shot Dimitri.
