Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on October 3, 2023: An unexpected visitor catches Rafe off guard. Ava and Harris find themselves in a dangerous situation. Belle confronts Shawn.
Days of Our Lives Episode Recap October 3, 2023: Belle Wishes Talia To Hell
Jada is about to leave to take the gun to forensics when Shawn stops her and asks if they’re good. She tells him to get his act together and they’ll see. Shawn says that it’s awkward, but asks her not to say anything. Jada says "I promise I won’t tell anyone you slept with my sister." Neither of them realizes that Belle is standing in the open doorway until she says "you just did." Shawn asks Belle what she’s doing there and she tells him that she was going to surprise him and take him to lunch but after what she just heard she lost her appetite.
She tells him that she’s happy she heard it though and asks if he was ever going to tell that he was having an affair with Talia. Jada tells Belle that no one else knows about this, and how bad Talia feels and then leaves them alone to talk. As soon as Shawn tries to explain himself, Belle smacks him across the face. Shawn admits that he deserves that and Belle rages against him for cheating on her. He tells her that he didn’t tell her the truth because he thought it would hurt her more than the lie.
She tells him this was the one thing that she thought he would never do to her or to them and now she knows she’s been living a lie. Belle thinks that Shawn did this to punish her for Philip and EJ but he swears to her that that’s not true. He tells her, that he thinks that since he forgave her she should be able to forgive him and tells her that he will do anything to get that forgiveness. He begs her to tell him what he needs to do and Belle tells him there’s nothing he can do. She tells him that she has to get out of there and he offers to go home with her. She tells him that she doesn’t want to go home with him or be anywhere near him. Shawn asks where they go from there and Belle says she doesn’t know, but she wants him to leave her alone.
Days Recap Today
Marlene calls Talia back to her office and tells her that they never got to finish their session. Talia tells her that she’s not sure what else there is to say and Marlene confronts her over sleeping with Shawn. Talia tries to deny it but Marlene reminds her that when they agreed for her to start therapy, she promised to be honest and forthright. Talia admits that she did in fact sleep with Shawn.
Talia asks her how she found out and Marlena explains that she figured it out for herself and tells her how she connected the dots. Talia says she’s sorry and Marlena says that she is too. Talia tells Marlena that she’s very ashamed and tells her that it was only one time and promises that it will never happen again. She asks Marlena not to say anything and Marlena tells her that as much as she wants to she can’t because she’s bound by doctor-patient confidentiality.
Talia says that she knows that she and Marlena still have to work together and it will be uncomfortable but she hopes that Marlena now agrees with her that she needs to have another therapist. Marlena says that she does agree. After Talia leaves Marlena's office, she sees Jada, who tells her what happened and apologizes. Talia defends Shawn and tells Jada that he’s a good guy and she needs to have a good relationship with him to work with him. Jada feels that Shawn took advantage of her but Talia says they took advantage of each other. She hopes this doesn’t change how her sister looks at her but Jada assures her that she loves her and is there for her no matter what. The sisters hug.
After Jada leaves, Talia remembers waking up next to Shawn and their conversation agreeing not to say anything and then running into him and Belle in the Square. Belle steps off the elevator and Talia tries to apologize, but Belle tells her to go to hell. Belle goes to Marlena‘s office and she can tell that her daughter is upset. She asks what happened and Belle tells Marlena that Shawn cheated on her and breaks down crying as her mother hugs her.

Harris wakes up and is relieved when Ava wakes up moments later. She asks him what happened and he tells her that Edmund drugged their tea. Ava asks if she imagined him saying that he had Susan locked up in a back room. Just then they realize that they are both chained by their ankles to a large structure. Susan‘s chain is attached to the wall and she comes out of the bathroom and smiles happy that Ava found her. Ava is happy to see that Susan really is alive and Susan says it’s no thanks to her.
Ava says she knows it sounds lame but she wasn’t in her right mind when she did what she did. Susan agrees that it does sound lame and asks who Harris is. Harris introduces himself and tells her about the hit EJ put out on Ava for killing her. Susan is touched that her son would do that for her but promises to slap him silly when she gets home. Harris asks her to tell them everything she knows about Crumb just as Edmond walks in the door.
He tries to slide a bucket of food and drinks over to Harris but Harris kicks it away and says that he’s not a fan of being poisoned. Edmund says he has no more reason to poison them now that he has them where he wants them. Harris asks why Edmund is holding them and Susan and Edmund tells them how he ended up with Susan in the first place. He says that after he heard the heartbreaking news about her death, he received a call that she was actually alive.
He says two men brought her to him half dead, and he nursed her back to health. Harris asks who the men are, but Edmund says he doesn’t know. Susan tells them that when she woke up after Edmond nursed her back to health, she asked for Roger and Edmund was upset. She told Edmund that she appreciated everything that he had done for her but she didn’t love him, she loved Roger.
Susan asks Edmund if he’s going to keep Ava and Harris locked up and Edmund is surprised to learn that the woman is the same person who tried to kill Susan. He said that now that he knows that they’re not innocent he’s going to have to take care of them. After he leaves the room, Ava asks Susan if she thinks that Edmund is capable of killing someone and Susan tells them that Edmund has killed before and tells them about Edmund killing her sister Penelope when he thought that she was Kristen. Haris promises Ava, that if Edmund’s going to kill her, he’s gonna have to kill him first.

Rafe is still in the hotel room, waiting for Harris and Ava to come back. He calls Jada to update her and then pulls his gun when he hears somebody at the door. The door opens, and Rafe is surprised to see Tripp who tells him not to shoot. Rafe asks if Tripp is there to tip off his mother that he is on her trail. Tripp reminds him that she is his mother and admits he wants to help her. Rafe asks how he tracked them down, and he tells them that Wendy was able to do it using the fake names on the passport.
He tells Rafe that he told the clerk that he was Ava‘s son and they gave him a key. Rafe asks why he didn’t just knock and Tripp says that he doesn’t think his mother would be happy that he followed her there. Rafe says that they haven’t been back to the hotel since he got there and Tripp asks if he thinks that they knew that he was there and that’s why they were staying away. Rafe and Tripp argue about Rafe's intentions for Ava and then Rafe gets a call with a lead.
He tells Tripp to go home or he’s going to handcuff him to the wall. Trip asks if Rafe even has handcuffs on him and can tell that he doesn’t. He tells Rafe that he knows Ava and he can help him. Rafe reluctantly agrees, grabs his gun, and says let’s go. Rafe and Tripp go to the café and Rafe talks to the server who lent Harris his phone. Rafe tells Tripp that he checked the search history and he found they searched for Susan‘s first husband, Edmund Crumb.
Tripp offers to call Wendy to get an address on him, but Rafe tells him he already had it has it. Edmund is loading his gun when his doorbell rings. He puts the gun in his pocket and answers it. Raf and Tripp are standing on the other side. Rafe tells him that he’s a police officer from Salem and that Tripp is his associate. They walk into the apartment, and Rafe tells him that they’re looking for Harris and Ava, and shows him their pictures.
Edmund says he recognizes Ava as the person who killed his Susan and says that she shouldn’t be free, she shouldn’t even be alive. Rafe says that some people believe Susan is alive and that he thinks Harris and Ava came to his apartment. Edmund denies it but Rafe asks if it’s okay for them to take a look around. Edmund pulls the gun on them!
