Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on October 31, 2023: It’s Halloween in Salem… Eric, Sloan, and Nicole make a shocking discovery. Holly hatches a mischievous plan. Stephanie and Kayla conjure up a spell. Paulina and Abe’s movie night goes horribly wrong.

Days of Our Lives Episode Recap October 31, 2023: Bad Dreams Come to Life

Days Recap Today

Eric and Sloan are at home watching a zombie movie when he gets a call from the hospital that his former parishioner has died. They go to the hospital so Eric can pray over him and Sloan runs into Nicole while he goes to find out where his late friend is. The women snipe at each other until Eric comes running over to them, yelling that they have to follow him if they want to live.

Eric brings them into an exam room and barricades the door with a chair. Nicole and Sloan are confused and Eric tries to tell them that there are zombies roaming the hospital but they don't believe him until hands start banging on the door and they hear the growling. Nicole thinks it's her fault and confesses to lying about a virus in the hospital to have an excuse to get Eric's cheek swab. Sloan confesses to Eric that he is the father of Nicole's baby and not EJ.

Eric and Nicole are horrified when she tells them and she tries to explain to Eric that she only did it because she was so afraid of losing him. Eric suddenly feels pain and realizes that one of the zombies bit him and that he's infected. He finds a bottle of sedative and fills a syringe. He gives Sloan the needle and tells her that she has to inject him to kill him before he turns but she says that she can't do it. Eric gives Nicole the syringe and she injects him.

After he dies, Sloan cries over his body and yells at Nicole for killing him but Nicole injects her next and tells her that she is going to die for what she did. As Sloan dies she watches Nicole kiss Eric and promise to take care of their child. Sloan wakes up with a start and realizes it was just a nightmare and she fell asleep on the couch with Eric. She wakes him up and he tells her that he had the craziest dream and he can't remember it but he's really hungry.

Days Recap Today

Holly is watching a scary movie with Johnny and Chanel when it ends and Johnny suggests watching another one. Chanel tells him that she doesn't like scary movies and Holly quickly jumps in and says that she does and they should watch another. Chanel tells Johnny that she has to get home because she has to be up early to open the bakery and he walks her out to her car. Holly gets an idea about how to get closer to Johnny and calls Tate for help.

When Tate gets there, Holly gives him a scary mask and a knife and tells him to pretend to be stalking her so she can get Johnny to protect and comfort her. He reluctantly agrees to help and puts on the mask. Holly runs to Johnny and tells him that she saw someone looking at her from the French doors and he goes to check it out, telling her to stay close. Holly happily agrees as she follows him. No one is there when Johnny looks and he tries to calm Holly down but then the masked stalker comes in and slashes Holly's arm with the knife before running off.

Johnny wants to take Holly to the hospital but hears a noise upstairs and goes to investigate. When he is gone Tate comes in and Holly blasts him but he tells her that it wasn't him who stabbed her. He goes to try to find who it is and the masked stabber comes in and kills him. Johnny comes back down and the killer stabs him too. Holly asks who they are and they take off their mask and show her...it's Chanel!

Holly demands to know why Chanel killed them and she tells her that she knew Holly was after Johnny and knew Johnny was starting to have feelings for Holly too. Just as Chanel is about to kill Holly, Holly wakes up and realizes she was just dreaming. She looks over and sees Johnny and Chanel making out on the couch next to her and says that she is living in a real nightmare.

Days Recap Today

Chad is on the couch when Stephanie comes out and asks if he is coming to bed. He tells her that he is going to sleep on the couch to give her space after their fight and she tells him that she doesn't think they are working out. She says that she loves him and has found a way to give him what he really wants, Abigail. 

Chad is confused but Stephanie tells him about her parents finding Gideon's diary years ago and explains that it contains a spell that can bring someone back from the dead. Chad doesn't believe her but Kayla arrives and says that she has the potion that they need and all they need is something that belonged to Abigail. Chad says that he doesn't have anything but Stephanie produces Abigail's wedding ring and says she found it in the closet.

Kayla and Stephanie perform the spell but Chad doesn't think it works. There's a knock on the door and Stephanie thinks it's Abigail but it's actually Steve. He tells them that he found more pages from the diary and that they can't do the spell because it will bring back a vengeful Abigail who will be a danger to them. He pulls out his gun and says they have to kill her if she shows up but Chad tells him that they can't and they struggle over the gun.

The lights go out and when they come back on, Steve is lying on the floor dead and Stephanie says that she saw Abigail appear and break his neck. Kayla tries to revive him as Chad goes to try to find Abigail. When he comes back, Kayla and Steve are both dead and Stephanie tells him that Abigail did it. She tells him that she shot her many times but it didn't have an effect. She tells him that she saved one bullet for him and aims the gun. Just as she's about to shoot, Chad wakes up and realizes it was just a nightmare.

Days Recap Today

Abe and Paulina are enjoying a movie and thunder rumbles outside. She tells him that he can stay the night if he wants to but he says that he is trying to take Marlena and John's advice to not try so hard to heart. Paulina gets a call informing her that a homicidal maniac has escaped from Bayview and then the lights go out for a moment. When they come back on she sees that Abe is unconscious on the couch and tries to rouse him. 

Paulina asks who could have done this to him and Whitley tells her that she did. Paulina looks up to see Whitley standing there with a rolling pin in her hand. Abe comes to and says that he remembers. Paulina is surprised but her surprise quickly turns to horror when Abe tells her that he remembers that she is Whitley and Whitely is his wife, Paulina. Paulina tries to prove that she is Abe's wife but when she shows him a picture of their wedding day, Whitley is the one standing next to Abe, as his bride.

Paulina is shocked when she looks around her apartment and finds that it is suddenly filled with stuffed cats and that she is wearing clothes from Bayview while Whitley is wearing her silk robe. Abe vows to protect his wife from "Whitley" and calls Rafe, telling him that the escaped homicidal maniac is there. Paulina tries to convince Abe of who she is but he doesn't believe her. Whitley raises the rolling pin and bashes Paulina with it just as Paulina wakes up suddenly from the nightmare she was having. 

She finds Abe looking at their wedding photo and he tells her that she was a beautiful bride and he wishes he could remember. They snuggle on the couch together to watch a movie, neither of them noticing the stuffed cat on a side table behind them.
