General Hospital Recap October 17: Guns Are Drawn and Shots Are Fired

Spoilers for General Hospital on October 17, 2023: Lois meets Chase; Eddie gets a talking-to; Josslyn panics; Cyrus issues a warning; and Ava is in grave danger.






General Hospital Episode Recap October 17, 2023: 

GH Recap Today

Lois meets Eddie at the mansion and wonders if he is avoiding her. She tries to jog his memory about their past, but he doesn't remember anything. Eddie also doesn't remember Olivia or their daughter Brook Lynn, who walks in with Chase. Lois is happy to see Chase and notes how happy he makes their daughter. Eddie asks Lois about their past, but she hesitates to tell the story, not wanting to bore them. However, they insist on hearing it, so Lois recounts how she met Eddie, hoping to jog his memory, but with no success. Despite not remembering, Eddie apologizes to Lois for anything he may have done. Lois tries to reach out to him but ends up angering him and he leaves. She apologizes for upsetting him, and Chase remarks that he now understands where Brook Lynn gets her spirit from. He finds Brook Lynn to be a force of nature and is happy to have met Lois.

Tracy calls Finn, but as she does, Gregory walks in, telling Tracy that he's there to settle a score. Tracy tells him to let her have it. Gregory thanks her for doing something that had to be done. She wonders if he's not angry, and he admits that he is, but not so much at her. Tracy laughs, as she had been worried that he would be angry with her. She wonders how he's doing, and he tells her that he's getting worse, and maybe he'll soon have to start using a cane, but otherwise, he's great. She offers him a drink, and he accepts. She's relieved that he came by, and wonders why Finn bailed on her. Gregory tells her that Violet has a cold, and she understands. Gregory suggests that he could fill in for Finn, and Tracy says that Finn understands her competitive nature. Gregory tells her that he's the one who taught Finn all he knows about backgammon. Tracy agrees to play with Gregory, saying, "Let's roll." After the game, Gregory thanks her for the distraction and the drink. Tracy says they will do it again. After Gregory leaves, Eddie runs into Tracy and tells her that Lois is driving him crazy.

Tracy enters as Chase and Brook Lynn leave. She tells Lois that she was responsible for getting them back together and Lois should be grateful. 

GH Recap Today

Carly is visiting Drew at the hospital. After kissing him, she asks how he is feeling. Drew replies that he's better now that Carly is there with him. However, he mentions that he's fine enough to go back to Pentonville. Carly is not happy to hear this because if Drew returns to Pentonville, the people who tried to kill him might finish the job. Drew insists that he'll be fine and that he's in Pentonville because of his own actions. He requests that Carly let him deal with his situation. However, Carly reminds him that it's her situation, too. Suddenly, Cyrus knocks on the door and enters. Carly is surprised to see him and asks "What the hell?" Cyrus tells them that he was released from Pentonville and wanted to come check on the man who saved his life. He also mentions that he had wanted to see Carly for a very long time. However, Carly tells him not to hold his breath for any sort of reconciliation. Cyrus thinks that Carly would appreciate what he had done for Drew. When they ask him what he is talking about, Cyrus reveals that he was the one who found Drew in the shower and got him the help he needed.

Austin bumps into Cyrus at the hospital and wonders why he is there. Cyrus reveals that they have some unfinished business and expresses his gratitude for Austin's testimony during the hearing. Austin insists that Cyrus must let Ava go, reminding him of their agreement. He argues that Ava is not a threat and pleads with Cyrus to release her. However, before Cyrus can respond, Austin receives a call and has to leave. Cyrus then contacts Mason and instructs him to take Ava home as the situation has been resolved to his satisfaction. 

GH Recap Today

Josslyn urgently goes to the Port Charles Police Department to speak with Detective Falconeri. She tells him that Ava is in danger and that it is a matter of life and death. Dante, who was just finishing up a call, listens to Josslyn's concerns and learns that Ava failed to pick up her daughter Avery and hasn't been seen or heard from since the night before last. Dante immediately leaves to investigate while ensuring Josslyn, Pilar, and Avery will be taken care of at the police station. While waiting, Avery talks to Josslyn about how her sister Donna got to go to the wedding while she missed it. Just then, Josslyn receives a call from Spinelli who asks if she's heard from Dex. Spinelli informs Josslyn that Dex is following Mason. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Josslyn immediately tries to reach Dante to inform him of the new development.

GH Recap Today

Dex is searching for Ava while talking to Spinelli on the phone. He confirms with Spinelli that Ava was at th location. Dex then hurries out to see if he can catch up with Mason. He pleads with Spinelli to check every location in Pautuck to see if he can find any further information.

Mason takes Ava to a cliff and tells her that he has to do what he's about to do. Although Ava tries to persuade him to reconsider, reminding him of what Sonny, would do to him, Mason remains steadfast. Ava offers to cover for him with Sonny if he lets her go, but Mason refuses. He believes that Ava chose Austin over him and is now paying the price. After a call with Cyrus, who tells him to let Ava go home, Mason decides to ignore his boss's orders and do things his way. He grabs Ava from the car, but Dex arrives on the scene and points a gun at Mason, demanding that he lets Ava go. Mason asks who Dex is, but Dex warns him that he'll never find out if he doesn't drop his gun. A shot is fired, and Ava runs away. Shortly after, Mason and Dex get into a physical fight, and Mason takes Dex to the cliff. Ava shouts, "Stop!" just as Dante arrives on the scene. Shots are fired, and Mason tumbles on the ground.

Josslyn called her mother to let her know that everyone is safe, but she needs to come home because something happened. Ava thanked Dex for rescuing her and asked him how he found her. Dante asked Ava if she knew why Mason brought her there and what he intended to do. Meanwhile, in the elevator, Austin demanded Cyrus to let him talk to Ava, but Cyrus told him that he had no position to make demands.
