Spoilers for General Hospital on October 20, 2023: Alexis is disheartened. Spencer and Esme argue. Dante is frustrated. Valentin surprises Charlotte. Diane and Robert have a heart-to-heart.
General Hospital Episode Recap October 20, 2023: Liz Agrees to Keep Drew's Secret
Robert runs into Diane at the yoga studio and teases her about if Sonny knows that she's there and not sitting by the phone, waiting for his call. They banter back and forth flirtatiously about their jobs and Diane comments that they always spar with each other. Roberts thinks they should change that but Diane tells him that she doesn't want to be his backup friend.
Robert tells her that he wants to be more than friends and asks if they can pick up where they left off. Diane shuts him down and says if they are going to do anything, it's start at the beginning. Robert is game and Diane warns him that this is his last chance, if he blows her off for another woman again, they're done.

Charlotte is thrilled to see that Laura is back and embraces her tightly. She asks her grandmother if she found Nikolas and Laura tells her that she didn't see him but that she knows he is alive and ok. Laura tells Charlotte that that she wants to hear all about her life and Valentin leaves them alone to talk. Laura notices Charlotte watching him leave and asks if she is worried about him.
Charlotte tells her that she thinks that he is worried about her and asks why Valentin took her out of school early. Laura says that she wanted time with her and Charlotte tells her that she's not so lonely with her home. Laura shares how lonely she was as a child. She promises Charlotte that she has her and Valentin and Charlotte tells her that all of her old school friends are staying away from her. Laura asks her about Jake and she tells her that he's nice but it's not the same because he's a boy.
Charlotte confides that Valentin is always busy and Laura asks her about Anna. Charlotte changes the subject and remembers listening in on Valentin telling Anna about the house. Charlotte tells Laura that she always wanted a home that she could share with only Valentin. Laura tells her that it is hard to be a teenage girl and confides that it was a very confusing time for her.
Laura tells Charlotte that she made a lot of really big mistakes when she was younger and Lesley saved her from them. She tells her that she wants to be there for Charlotte the same way Lesley was when she was younger. Laura tells Charlotte that if there’s anything she wants to share with somebody she is always there to listen Charlotte looks like she’s about to share something with her, but then just says that she missed her and hugs her again

Anna talks to her guard at the MetroCourt and asks if he saw anything suspicious. He assures her that he didn't and that he was watching very closely. Valentin arrives and asks why she isn't in her room and she tells him that she doesn't feel safe there. He suggests that she stay somewhere else but she doesn't think that's the answer. Anna thinks she has to confront whoever is after her and deal with it. Valentin thinks that she is the victim of someone else's vengeance, Victor's. He thinks she is being targeted because of him.

Cody and Dante meet for coffee at the coffee house and Dante tells him about being on administrative leave. Cody says that doing the right thing can lead to bad outcomes. They talk about Sasha leaving and Dante thinks it could be good for her. Cody disagrees and Dante wants to know why he didn't ask her to stay.
Cody tells him that he made the conversation about himself and admits that he told her about the DNA test with Mac. Cody thanks Dante for everything he did for him and Sasha and Dante asks if he is going to tell Mac the truth. Cody tells him that he can't look Mac in the face after lying to him and Dante tells him that the secret just makes things harder for everyone.

The judge tries to deny that he knows the billionaire but Alexis tells him that she has proof of the flights he took with him. He tells her that he didn't agree to the interview for questions like these and stands to leave. Alexis tells him that he agreed to speak on the record so she can print anything he says but tells him that she won't print anything if he changes Drew's sentence.
The judge accuses her of trying to blackmail him and says she belongs in jail with Drew before storming out. Alexis berates herself but Gregory comes to her defense. She thinks she ruined things for Drew by acting like a lawyer and admits to him that she misses it. Then she gets a call and her contact tells her that the judge pulled Drew's case file and could be reconsidering his sentence.

Spencer rushes up to Esme, Ace, and Kevin at GH and says that he hopes he didn't miss Ace's appointment with his pediatrician. He asks Esme why she didn't tell him and she says it was rescheduled at the last minute and she assumed he would be with Trina. He tells her that he wants to be at every appointment and she reminds him that she is Ace's mother and can take care of it herself. When they get called in she makes Spencer wait outside and he asks Kevin what's going on.
Kevin tells him that Esme was asserting her parental rights and reminds him that he doesn't have any. They talk about Nik and Kevin encourages Spencer to give his father the benefit of the doubt but Spencer refuses. Spencer wants to be there for his brother and Kevin says that is okay but says that he has no rights to him and as their lives progress, Spencer's role will shrink. Spencer rejects that idea and when Esme comes out with Ace he says they should go to Kelly's together to celebrate Ace's good check-up.

Liz goes to visit Drew in his hospital room and she catches him up about the boys. She fills him in on Cameron's life at college, Jake's new girlfriend Charlotte, and Aiden's baking. She tells him that he has a business set up and he offers to put in a word with Carly so he can sell his pastries at Kelly's. Liz is very grateful and tells him that he means a lot to them all.
The guard comes in and tells Drew that he is being transferred back to Pentonville. Liz wants to find a way to delay but Drew tells her not to, he has to go back eventually anyway. She offers to call Carly but he asks her not to do that either. He thinks it will be harder on Carly to watch him get taken away in chains. A little while later Liz watches as he is wheeled out in handcuffs and leg chains
