The Young and the Restless Recap for Wednesday, October 3, 2023:
Today on The Young and the Restless, Victor makes a promise to Nikki, Victoria and Nate compare notes, and Jack works to bring Kyle back to Jabot.

Billy comes into Jack’s office and asks about the meeting with the ad company. Jack tells him that there were a few good ideas, but he’ll update him on that later but first, he wants to hear how things went with Tucker. Billy tells him what happened and tells them that Tucker tried to act like he didn’t care, but he can tell that he’s in total panic. Jack tells Billy about his conversation with Phyllis. He tells him that Phyllis desperately wants redemption and if Tucker doesn’t back off, Phyllis could be just the weapon they need.

Diane comes home and sees Kyle there. She asks him about how he’s keeping busy and about his job hunt. He tells her that he hasn’t found anything yet and she reminds him that she and Jack still want him to come back to Jabot. He starts to argue with her and she says that she knows he doesn’t want anything less than the co-CEO job. Kyle says that Jack said that getting rid of Billy was not outside of the realm of possibility, and if that happens, he’ll come back to Jabot.
Diane tells him that she thought Jack was getting rid of Billy, but Billy talked his way into staying. She said she doesn’t think they should be working so closely together because Billy brings out the darker side of Jack. She tells Kyle that she told Jack that and he tells her that he doesn’t want the job just because she badgered Jack into it. Diane promises that she won’t pressure Jack about the co-CEO job, but she asks Kyle if he would maybe be interested in another position in the company as an interim position.
He asks what she means and she tells him that he didn’t hear it from her, but Billy is going to be out soon because history always repeats itself. She reminds him that she’s the chief talent officer for Jabot, and asks him to let her find him a position. She tells him that if he’s in the company when Billy screws up, it’ll be easy for him to slide into the co-CEO spot. Kyle asks what happens if Billy doesn’t screw up. Diane said he’ll still have a great job in the company, but he tells her that he’s already proven himself as a leader and he can’t go back and be stuck in the middle with nowhere to go, living in his father's shadow.
Jack and Billy come in and Jack’s pleasantly surprised to see Kyle. Billy offers his condolences about losing the job at Newman Media and asks Kyle what’s next. Kyle says that he and Diane were just discussing that and Jack reminds him that he’d love him to come back to Jabot. Kyle says they’ll see before leaving the room. Jack asks Diane if Kyle’s okay and Diane says no. Billy leaves them alone to talk but asks Jack to update him if he hears anything from Phyllis.
Diane wants to know why Jack is the one dealing with Phyllis but he tells her that he’ll update her later but for right now, they need to focus on Kyle. Diane tells him that he thinks she thinks Kyle has lost his purpose and they need to help him. Jack reminds her that he asked him to come back to Jabot, but Diane says he needs more than that. Kyle is listening from upstairs as Diane tells Jack that Kyle needs to know that they value him as a member of the family and the company.

Adam reads Tucker’s text and smiles before going into Victor‘s office. He asks him if the things he said earlier about everything coming together were BS and Victor asks if he’s ever known him to say something he doesn’t mean. Adam tells Victor that he thinks that he can’t trust him, especially when it comes to Victoria but tells Victor that he’s not the one that he needs to worry about. Victor asks if he’s talking about Victoria and Adam says that he is. Adam thinks that she gave in and played nice too easily. Victor tells him that he runs Newman and he will get rid of anybody who isn’t loyal to it.

Nick is furious after Sally tells him that Adam kissed her. She tells him that it wasn’t a big deal but Nick says his brother kissing his girlfriend is a big deal. She explains to him what happened leading up to the kiss and then tells him that Adam instantly regretted it, and apologized. Nick doesn’t believe that Adam regretted it and asks if Adam did anything else like tell her that he still loves her and thinks they belong together. Sally doesn’t say anything but Nick can tell by the look on her face that he’s right.
Nick asks her how she felt after Adam kissed her, and Sally remembers the kiss before telling him that she has mixed feelings. Nick wonders if there’s a part of her that’s still in love with Adam and she tells him that that’s hard to answer because it’s not black-and-white. She compares it to him and Sharon, but Nick says that it’s not the same. She tells Nick that no matter what she feels for Adam. It doesn’t make what she feels for him any less. Nick thinks Adam still has a hold on her, but she swears that he doesn’t.
She begs Nick to tell her that she hasn’t messed this up and he hugs her. Adam walks into the park and sees them hugging. He approaches them and Nick tells him to keep walking. Adam asks if Nick can let go of what happened with McCall and Kirsten and Nick tells him that he’s not in the mood to let anything Adam does go. Adam is confused because he thought he and Nick had put everything behind him but Nick tells him that he brings trouble to everyone. Nick tells Adam to stay away from him and everyone he cares about and Adam realizes that Sally told Nick about the kiss.

Nate and Victoria go to the GAC for dinner and he tells her about his conversation with Victor. She’s thrilled to find out that Victor is skeptical of Adam but she’s surprised when Nate tells her that Adam isn’t the only one that Victor is doubting. Nate asks her if she’s really okay with Victor’s plan for Newman Enterprises and where that leaves her. Victoria tells Nate that she’s going along with Victor’s plans for now, but she wonders if Victor put him up to questioning her to find out if she’s loyal or not.
Nate tells her that his loyalty is to her and asks her again if she meant what she told Victor. Victoria tells him that she did mean it. She admits to Nate that she doesn’t think Victor coming back as CEO is a good idea, and she believes that he’s expressing errors in judgment, mainly bringing Adam back to the company. But she says that she and Nate have both put Adam on notice and they’ll be watching him closely. She also feels that eventually, Adam will do something in his own best interest that will hurt the company, and that might be what Victor needs to finally realize who Adam actually is.

Tucker sits at the bar that society and remembers the conversations he had about the evidence against him and Audra, with Audra, Kyle, Adam, and Billy. Adam comes in and sits across from him and asks what he’s going to regret. Tucker tells him he was supposed to destroy the evidence, and instead sold it to the highest bidder. Adam denies it but Tucker doesn’t believe him. Adam asks who has the evidence and Tucker tells him that it’s Billy and he’s using it as leverage. Adam asks what Tucker could have that Billy wants. Tucker stands up and tells Adam that it’s been a long time since they were friends, but now he’s made him his enemy and he hopes he realizes what a big mistake that is before walking out.

Victor is thinking about his conversation with Victoria when Nikki comes in and they greet each other with kisses. She asks if he’s talked to Victoria and he tells her that he has and that Victoria told him that she accepts the changes at Newman. Nikki says she still has reservations about Victoria working with Adam, especially with him in a subordinate position. Victor tells her that he understands her concerns, but asks if that’s really what she’s worried about or if she’s actually worried about him resuming a full-time position at Newman Enterprises.
Nikki asks if it would matter if she said yes. She tells him that with their health issues, they shouldn’t be taking on additional stress and tells him that she’s determined to take care of him like he’s always taken care of her. She tells him that she wants him to be with her for a long time. He says he feels the same about her, and that knows that they’ll be together for the rest of their lives.
Victor tells her that he loves the stress of Newman and it gives him a chance to spend more time with his children. Nikki says he’ll spend more time watching them go at each other and Victor tells her that he’s going to put a stop to that. He said he’s going to unify the family and the company and hopefully when Nick sees that he has he will also want to re-join Newman. Neither of them is aware that Victoria is listening to them outside of the door.

Tucker goes to Audra's room and asks if she blew him off for Nikki‘s benefit. She tells him that she did and says that as much as she hates Nikki trying to control her personal life, she is still her boss. Tucker tells her about Adam giving the information to Billy about the singer they covered up for and Billy’s threats to release it. Audra asks what he’s going to do now that Billy‘s ruined his plans to take over Jabot.
