The Young and the Restless Recap for Friday, October 13, 2023:
Today on The Young and the Restless, Nick finds a way to connect with Victor, Victoria gives Adam the benefit of the doubt, and Chloe gives Sally sage advice.

Adam approaches Nick at Society and tells him about Victor calling him Nikolas. Nick makes a joke but Adam is worried that Victor is in trouble. Nick tells him that he doesn't want to hear anything from Adam. Nick says that Adam has screwed up every aspect of his life and tells him that he's done. Nick tells him that he doesn't want anything to do with him anymore before storming out. Adam follows him and finds him in the park.
Nick is mad that Adam followed him but Adam tells him that he can't just say something like that and walk away. They argue and Nick is mad. Adam tries to diffuse the situation and swears to Nick that he will keep his distance. Nick tells him that he is a disgrace to the Newman family and storms away again. Adam turns around and sees Victoria standing there watching them.
Victoria tells her that she's not interested in how things started and she's not interested in refereeing her brothers. She thinks Nick isn't buying Adam's act either and Adam tells her that their fight had nothing to do with that, it was personal. Adam is shocked when Victoria apologizes for jumping to conclusions. Victoria tells him that she told Victor that she would give him a chance and Nate told her to consider his accomplishments before writing him off.
Adam asks if she has noticed anything odd about Victor and tells her that he called her Nicholas and didn't remember doing it. Victoria wonders if Victor was embarrassed by his mistake but Adam says that doesn't happen to Victor. Victoria admits that he is right and Adam is shocked again. He leaves to go back to work and Victoria calls Nick and asks if they can meet. He doesn't want to, but she insists.

Nick has a drink at the GAC and thinks about conversations he had with Sally and with others, about her. Victoria shows up and talks to him about what is going on with Victor. Nick tells her that Victor demoting her is not a sign of diminished mental capacity. He tells her to step up and deal with it or walk away. Victoria tells him that she is insulted that he doesn't think she is actually worried about their father. Nick tells her that Victor came back because the company was fractured but Victoria doesn't think it was. She says Victor is not immortal and he is in a crisis even if Nick refuses to see it. Nick says that there is nothing to see and Victoria asks what if he is wrong.
Y&R Recap Today
Chloe is on a business call at Crimson Lights and sees Sally when she hangs up. Chloe goes over to her and asks what's up. Sally says nothing but Chloe can tell she is upset. Sally tells her that she thinks she lost her best friend but isn't sure which one. Sally doesn't want to unload on Chloe but Chloe tells her that she is her friend and she wants to help her.
Sally tells her about the kiss from Adam and how it happened. Chloe asks about Nick and Sally tells her that she confessed what happened to him and that he didn't take it well. She tells Chloe that she told Nick that she was in love with him but he didn't believe her after what happened with Adam and that she can't blame him. Chloe tells her that she shouldn't be so hard on herself and that Nick loves her and will come around.
Sally isn't sure and tells her that Nick ended things because he thinks she has unresolved feelings for Adam and doesn't trust her anymore. Sally admits that she doesn't know if she trusts herself. Chloe tells her to go to Nick and tell him that she's sincere and get him back. Sally isn't sure if Nick is right or not. Chloe thinks Sally really does want only Nick and thinks she should convince him of that.
Chloe tells Sally to listen to her heart and it will tell her that she loves Nick and that Adam is part of her past. Sally asks what she should do if her heart doesn't tell her that. Sally says that she is sick of pretending she doesn't have feelings for Adam but that she has to face the truth that she does have feelings for him. Chloe thinks it's all about Adam wanting to get what he wants no matter who it hurts.
Sally says she doesn't know what to think but Chloe thinks that she does know but doesn't want to admit it. Chloe tells her that she knows how hard it is to get bad boys out of the system from being married to Billy. She asks Sally if she is going to do everything she can to get Adam out of her system and Sally tells her that she has tried that already. Chloe tells her to try harder because she should be with Nick.
Chloe reminds her that Adam brings her nothing but pain and Nick is her way to happiness. She tells her to go to Nick and tell him that she is ready to let go of the past and to do it now. Adam walks into Crimson Lights and Sally sees him and sighs. Adam comes over and asks what is going on with Nick. He tells her that Nick almost punched him and Chloe asks him to let her and Sally finish their conversation.
After he walks away, Chloe tells her to go and see Nick right now and to get him back. Sally gets up to leave and Adam asks if he can help with whatever is bothering her and she says no. He asks if they can go somewhere and talk and she tells him that those days are over before leaving the coffee house. Chloe rips into him for destroying people's lives and Adam suggests that she try shooting him again with better aim this time. She says that maybe she should but then tells him she is too busy before leaving.
Sharon asks Adam what he has done now and asks him to tell her that this is not about Sally. Adam asks why it's so bad that he wants a future with her and Sharon reminds him that Sally is with Nick. Adam thinks there is something going on and tells her that Nick almost punched him. Sharon advises him to walk away but Adam says he can't promise that. He thinks that Nick and Sally are over and says that he and Sally belong together. Sharon tells him that he doesn't care who he hurts.
Y&R Recap Today
Nikki goes to her office and is surprised by Claire. She is touched that Claire made tea for her and Claire suggests that she sit down and let her serve her. Claire pours her tea and asks if she can do anything to help her. Nikki says she is just dealing with family issues but there is nothing to be concerned about. Claire tells her that she is a good listener if she needs one and Nikki thanks her. They chat vaguely about the Newman family and Claire tells her how impressed she is with both of Nikki's children.
Y&R Recap Today
Sally is in the park and she calls Nick and leaves a message asking him to call her and to give them another chance. Nick is in the gym, punching the heavy bag when Victor comes in and asks Nick to talk to him. Victoria goes to Victor's office and looks around. She sees a picture of her and her father and picks it up. She looks at it for a long moment before angrily smashing it to the floor and leaving.
