Today on The Young and the Restless, Victor’s actions cause concern among his family, Nick reaches a decision about his future with Sally, and Nikki sets ground rules with Claire.

When Heather is gone, Lily asks Daniel if he's okay with Heather moving back to GC. He says yes, and Lily thinks he should have told her about it, but he didn't want to talk about his ex and ruin their romantic evening. Lily appreciates Daniel's consideration but worries that them being in the same town might bring up old stuff for him. They discuss how happy Phyllis would be to learn that Lucy is moving back to GC. As they return to Lily's apartment, they find a gift from Aunt Mamie, thanking Lily for accepting her as part of the family company. Daniel asks Lily if she is still worried about her aunt's motives, and she is not sure why Mamie is being so secretive.

At the office, Nikki informs Claire that once she finishes up her tasks, she can go home. Nikki hopes that Claire had a wonderful first day. Claire confirms that her day was wonderful. Victoria enters the room and apologizes for interrupting. Nikki introduces Victoria to her new assistant, Claire Grace. Claire expresses her admiration for Victoria and her impressive career, even mentioning her time with Brash & Sassy. She tells Victoria that she met her father earlier, and he must be very proud of her. After Claire leaves, Victoria inquires about her. Nikki tells her that today was Claire's first day and she thinks she will do just fine.
As Claire is walking and reading on her tablet, she accidentally bumps into Nate, causing the device to fall out of her hand. She quickly apologizes, acknowledging that she shouldn't be reading while walking. After introducing themselves, Nate asks Claire how she is getting on at Newman Media. She replies that she is settling in well and loves the company's sense of togetherness. Nate expresses his pleasure in meeting her and says he hopes to see her around.

Victoria appears to be disconcerted, so Nikki inquires as to what's wrong. Victoria clarifies that she is not exactly shaken, but she is not having the best day. She confides in her mother about her conversation with Nick and expresses concerns about something going on with him that is related to Adam. Victoria is also worried about Victor, especially considering the stress of him being back. She recounts that she ran into Adam earlier, and he informed her that Victor mistakenly called him Nick. Nikki suggests that Adam's reason for telling Victoria is to unnerve her. Nate enters the room and reminds Nikki about the conference calls. He reassures them that they do not need to worry about what happened with Victor, and Nikki agrees. She does not think they need to overreact. Victoria points out that they may not be reacting enough. Later, Victoria asks Nate about her father's behavior, and he suggests that she talk to Nikki about it further. They decide to leave all work-related and Victor-related topics behind and go enjoy their dinner.
Nick and Victor spend some time punching bags. Victor notices that Nick is really into it and Nick says he is just blowing off some steam. Victor asks Nick why he isn't at the Athletic Club where he usually works out. Nick tells his father about running into Adam earlier and how Adam told him that Victor called him Nick instead of Adam. Victor says it's nothing like that and Adam misheard him. Later, seated at the bar at the GCAC, Victor reminds Nick of their first boxing lesson. Nick asks his father how it's going being back at Newman Enterprises. He begs his dad to promise not to overdo it at work. Victor says the only thing he regrets is that Nick is no longer at the family company. Nick notes he is enjoying working with Sharon. His father says look at how happy his sister is at Newman Media. Nick points out that it's Nikki who is at Newman Media and not his sister. He then reminds Victor that he made Nikki the CEO of Newman Media. Victor acknowledges that he thinks Victoria has finally come around and accepted the fact that she is no longer in charge. He also notes that it seems Adam is very happy being Nate's assistant.
Victor asks Nick if his punching the bag with such ferocity has to do with someone. Nick confesses that it has something to do with Adam. He doesn't believe that Adam has changed his ways. He ruined his relationship with Sally, and Nick thinks he is now laser-focused on Sally, doing everything he can to win her back. Nick will never forgive him for that. Victor thinks that maybe it's best for Nick and Sally to go their separate ways. Nick mentions how he is in love with Sally and Adam keeps interfering. Victor then says Adam and Sally are expecting a baby. Nick cannot compete with that. Nick reminds his father that Adam and Sally lost the baby months ago. Victor apologizes, realizing he's made a mistake. He gets up to head to the office and Nick wonders if he is okay. He says he is and reminds his son that sometimes love hurts and tells him he would be better off if he came back to Newman Enterprises. When Victor is gone, Nick reflects on his talk with Victoria where she shared her worries about their father. Later, Victoria and Nate walk in, and Nick tells her that he thinks she could be right about Victor.
Adam visits Sally at her suite in the GCAC, but Sally tells him to go away. He insists on having just five minutes of her time, and she reluctantly lets him in. Adam wants to make sure Sally is alright, but she accuses him of trying to follow her everywhere. Adam notices that Sally was pretty upset when he saw her earlier and asks if it is because of the kiss, which almost made Nick want to punch him in the face earlier. Sally admits that she might not have a business anymore since Nick might consider pulling the funding over the kiss. Adam thinks it's unfair, but Sally points out that it's Nick's money, so it's his call. Sally believes that if Nick could end their relationship, he could also pull the plug on the funding. Adam offers to talk to Nick, but Sally tells him not to bother. Adam assures Sally that things will work out and Nick will get over it. She tells Adam that she is done with people trying to make decisions for her. Adam compares Sally to his mother, but she begs him not to mention her. Adam encourages Sally to vent and let out all her anger. Sally explodes and asks Adam why he can't leave her alone. She is tired of him always taking away her happiness every time she is happy. Sally confesses that she wants Adam too, but she tells him to leave if he ever loved her. Adam leaves without another word.
