Y&R Recap October 17, 2023: Phyllis Uncovers Tucker's Dirty Little Secret

The Young and the Restless Recap for Tuesday, October 17, 2023:

Today on The Young and the Restless, Jack and Billy set a trap, Audra shares a proposition with Kyle, and Phyllis turns the tables on Tucker.

Y&R Recap Today

Kyle and Audra have sex in her hotel room and after she asks why they ever stopped doing it. Kyle reminds her that she fired him and she asks if he's forgiven her. He answers her with a kiss and she tells him she has a proposition for him. He tells her that he's listening and she warns him that it will be risky and his first instinct will be to say no but she asks him to hear her out. 

Audra asks him how things are going with his family and his quest to get his old job back and he tells her that nothing is happening. He tells her that Jack has not fired Billy yet and doesn't seem likely to and while Jack has offered him another position in her company, he won't go back for less than the Co-CEO job. Kyle feels that he deserves it and is frustrated at being iced out. He asks why she's asking and Audra tells him that she is interested in his life. Kyle asks about the proposition and she kisses him before they have sex again.

Afterwards, they talk about how nice it is that they don't have to sneak around anymore and she asks if he is ready to hear her proposition. She reminds him of his promise to hear her out before she tells him that she can offer him a position at Jabot. He tells her that he's confused and she asks what if she could give him the job he wants. He asks how she would manage to do it and reminds her that his family still owns the company. She says for now and he asks what she means.

Audra tells Kyle that she wants him to form an alliance with her and Tucker. Kyle pushes back and asks why he would ever join forces with Tucker. Audra tells him that one way or another Tucker will get his hands on Jabot and Kyle can get what he wants when Tucker does. Kyle asks her if she took him to bed to convince him and she tells him that one thing has nothing to do with the other.

She tells him that they could run Jabot together and Tucker will be on the sidelines. He says that all he has to do is betray his family and she asks what his family has done to earn his loyalty. She tells him that it's an opportunity and points out that he hasn't said no. Kyle gets up and gets dressed and asks why he shouldn't go right to his father and tells him. Audra tells him that Jack already knows that Tucker is coming after the company so fire away.

Kyle tells her that he wants no part of this and she asks why he didn't just leave then. She tells him that she just wants him to think about himself and what he needs and wants and tells him that he deserves to run the company. She points out that Jack has already had a wonderful and full career and should have no problem giving Kyle the reigns but just refuses to. He says that it will blow his family's dynasty apart and she argues that it wouldn't since he would be running it with her. 

Kyle tells her that she's not family and she says Jack doesn't want to give him the chance but she and Tucker will. Audra tells him that he would be a fool to pass up what they are offering him. 

Y&R Recap Today

Billy comes to the Abbott house to meet with Jack and Jack tells him about the listening device in the bonsai tree. Jack tells Billy that Phyllis is the one who put him on track to find it and Billy thinks they should be suspicious of that. He asks Jack how much he had to pay her and Jack tells him that it didn't cost anything. He tells Billy that he thinks she did it because she truly wants to redeem herself. Billy disagrees but Jack thinks he is right.

Jack tells Billy that he knows they have to monitor her but he thinks she is really trying to fix things. Billy reminds him about Phyllis helping Tucker to frame him for embezzlement and thinks Tucker has something on her. Jack asks if he thinks Phyllis and Tucker planned this so she could regain Jack's trust and Billy thinks that is likely. Jack says that he doesn't think she is playing them and doesn't care what her motivation is. 

Jack tells Billy that he hasn't forgiven Phyllis for what she did but he is grateful for her for helping them. Billy wonders what Tucker has on her and how hard it must be for her to always live under the threat of him. Jack refuses to believe that Phyllis will allow Tucker to use her against them, but Billy says history says otherwise. Jack argues that Phyllis cares deeply about what her kids think and that is to their benefit. 

Jack says that Tucker doesn't know that they know about the listening device and thinks they can use it to give him false information. Billy thinks it will never work so Jack asks what ideas he has. Billy says they should stop playing games and release everything they have on Tucker to the public. Kyle gets home and Jack can tell he is off. Kyle tells him that everything is fine but Jack pushes him. 

Y&R Recap Today

Phyllis is thrilled to meet Daniel and Summer at Society for a family dinner to celebrate her first day at her new job. Summer asks how her day went and Phyllis tells her that she is in the IT department but not running it. She tells them she is happy to be there and was very productive. Daniel says that he was told that she was on her best behaviour and Phyllis promises she won't let him down. 

Summer tells her that they believe in her and know she can do it. Phyllis is very optimistic about the future and then Tucker walks in and says hi to them. Phyllis' mood immediately dampens but Tucker doesn't linger before going to the bar and ordering a drink. After he walks away Summer asks Phyllis what is going on with her and Tucker and Phyllis denies any connection. Summer points out that he's glaring at her and Phyllis brushes it off as what Tucker does. 

Phyllis tries to stop Daniel from going over to him but Daniel ignores her and does it anyway. Tucker offers to buy him a drink but Daniel turns him down and asks why he is glaring at Phyllis. Tucker lies and tells him that he wasn't glaring, he was just watching them because he was jealous. He tells Daniel that he enjoyed watching them be a family again after everything they went through and tells him that it gives him hope for himself with Devon. 

Tucker also wonders if he should give Ashley another chance and offers to pick up their dinner tab as a thank you. Daniel declines but Tucker insists so Daniel says he will think about it before going back to his table. Phyllis asks what was said and Daniel tells her that Tucker wants to buy their dinner and why. Phyllis thinks he is just playing mind games but says that they should let him pay because it is the least he can do.

Summer asks what she means and asks what Tucker owes her and Phyllis backpedals and says they are square and owe each other nothing. She calls for the check and says they should go somewhere else but the waiter tells her that Tucker already paid it. Summer tells Phyllis that she should go thank Tucker and Daniel agrees, Under pressure, Phyllis does what they want and goes over to Tucker to thank him. 

Tucker tells him that he knows she has been giving Jack information on him and asks what it is. She tries to deny it but he shuts her down. He tells her that she can't play sides and she tells him that if she was she wouldn't be on his side. Tucker tells her that she owes him and she disagrees. He plays a clip of a conversation he recorded with Jack saying that Phyllis has something on him. At the table, Daniel wonders what they could still be talking about and Summer suggests that they go find out.

Right before they get to the bar, Tucker tells Phyllis to be in his room in 15 minutes but quickly pivots and pretends to accept her thank you when Daniel and Summer arrive. After he leaves Phyllis tries to cover but Summer tells her to stop with the lies and tell them what is going on. Summer tells Phyllis that if she doesn't tell them the truth then they are both leaving. 

Phyllis gives in...kind of and tells them about hacking into Tucker's computer for Jack. She claims that Tucker is trying to use that to get her to help him but says she turned him down. Phyllis defends herself by saying she was doing the right thing by helping the Abbotts but Summer says she made herself Tucker's target. Daniel says she should have turned Jack down but Phyllis says it is more complicated than that.

Daniel rages against her taking shortcuts and putting Jack's opinion of her above them and Phyllis says she can't keep doing this with them. She tells them that she is trying to do the right thing but it's not enough for them. She tells him that she gives up before storming over to the table and downing her wine.

Daniel and Summer go over and apologize to her and say they recognize that she has been trying and they will try to not jump to conclusions about her. She promises them that she can handle Tucker coming after her and Summer begs her to not do anything stupid. She asks them to give her the benefit of the doubt. She gets a text and tells them she has to go back to the office but they can get together tomorrow. Summer and Daniel agree and Phyllis heads out. After she is gone they talk and don't know what to think or believe.

Y&R Recap Today

Phyllis goes to Tucker's room and he says he is happy she is falling into line. She tells him that she's not but he is going to. Phyllis tells him that when she was hacking him she found his link to Mamie and threatens to tell Devon, Lily, and Jill that he is Mamie's silent partner. She tells him that she is in the driver's seat and asks how they should proceed.
