Today on The Young and the Restless: Phyllis and Audra face off and more... (Spoilers recap for October 18, 2023)
The Young and the Restless Recap for Wednesday, October 18, 2023:
Today on The Young and the Restless, Diane crosses the line, Traci shares words of wisdom with Jack, and Mamie points Nate in the right direction.
Y&R Recap Today
Jack tries to get Kyle to tell him about what is bothering him but Kyle brushes him off and asks what he and Billy are doing. Jack fills him in on what they have been talking about and their plans to expose Tucker using the damaging information they have on him. Kyle worries that it will make Tucker more vengeful and start a war.
Jack agrees that it's a risk but he and Billy both think he is a serious threat to the company. Jack thinks that as long as they stick together as a family, they can get through this. Kyle says that at least they can thank Tucker for one thing, Jack and Billy being united. Billy says that they are and Jack tells Billy he is grateful to have him with him. Kyle watches them and tries to mask his displeasure. Jack says that now is the time for them to pull together as a family.
Billy thinks they need to move quickly and should release the information they have tomorrow. Jack wants them to sleep on it and promises they will talk about it first thing in the morning. Billy leaves and Jack asks Kyle if he can depend on his support and his discretion. Kyle tells him that he can and Jack says that after they deal with this, he and Kyle can sit down and find the perfect spot for him at Jabot.
Kyle makes it clear that there is only one job he is interested in and that it's clear to him now that it's not an option. Jack is sure they can find something for him that will make him happy, but Kyle shuts him down just as Traci and Diane walk into the house laughing. Diane is happy to see her 2 favorite men, but Kyle says hi and then leaves quickly. Diane and Traci want to know what happened and Jack tells them that Kyle thinks he is slighting him.
Y&R Recap Today
Kyle goes to Crimson Lights and thinks about his conversation with Audra. Diane follows him and tries to talk to him about Jack but Kyle tells her that he knows he won't be getting the job he wants and he has accepted that but he's also not willing to come back for anything less. Diane thinks that Jack could still change his mind on Billy but Kyle isn't so sure.
He tells her that Jack and Billy are united and happy to be in a good place and working together and it would be selfish of him to try to ruin that. Diane asks what his plan is and he tells her that he got an interesting offer that he's considering. He says that he needs to follow his own path and Diane says that she supports that as long as that path doesn't lead him back to Audra.
Kyle tells her to back off of him about Audra. She doesn't understand why he would want to hang out with someone like her. Kyle says Audra is smart, fun, and highly motivated. Diane thinks there is more under the surface but Kyle thinks he can learn a thing or two from her. Diane asks what that means but Kyle tells her not to worry about it before abruptly walking out.

Phyllis wants Tucker to admit that she got him but he refuses to give her the satisfaction. He tells her that his connection to Mamie is personal and none of his business, but she disagrees. She says that she uncovered their secret connection and she is sure Devon, Lily, and Jill would be interested. Tucker asks what she wants and she tells him that she wants to know what he is doing. She asks if he connected with Mamie so that he could take over his son's company.
Tucker asks why she thinks he would do that to his son and asks what it is she thinks she knows. She tells him that she did a deep dive into his activities and he remarks that she did it for Jack even after he rejected her. Phyllis tells him that she found out he transferred money into a company that is owned by Mamie. Phyllis thinks Mamie used that money to buy her stake in Chancellor-Winters. She accuses Tucker of using Mamie to go after his son's company.
Tucker sarcastically tells her that she nailed it and she tells him to prove her wrong. He asks why would he when she is having so much fun. He tells her that he invests in many financial groups and that was all this was. Phyllis doesn't think it's that innocent and suggests that maybe she should talk to Devon and see what he thinks. Tucker asks what it is she wants.
Phyllis tells him that she wants him to leave her alone and he points out that she came to him. She says he has been harassing her and he tells her that she kicked the hornet's nest when she teamed up with Jack against him. She tells him that she is the hornet now. There is a knock on the door and when Phyllis gets it she sees Audra on the other side. Phyllis wants to know why she's there and Audra tells her that it's none of her business.
Phyllis tells Audra that she is a predator and she isn't surprised that she and Tucker are so close. Phyllis accuses her of ruining Summer's marriage and Audra tells her that Summer ruined her marriage herself before Kyle ever came looking for her. Tucker interrupts and tells Phyllis that it's late so she has to go. She asks if they have an understanding and he tells her that they do, for now.
After Phyllis leaves, Audra asks about the understanding and asks what Tucker did to fire Phyllis up so much. She tells him that Phyllis could be a threat to their plans and he asks if she is back on board and if they are a team again. Audra tells him that she is interested in helping him take over Jabot. He asks what changed her mind and she tells him that she realized Newman isn't a solid career path for her.
Audra doesn't like not being in charge anymore and having to answer to Nikki. She also doesn't trust Nikki's new assistant and Tucker thinks she might be jealous. Audra denies it and Tucker tells her that he will love her forever if she tells him they are a team again. She tells him that they are and he says she has to pull her weight. Audra tells him that she always does and he asks about Kyle.
Audra tells him that she is very close pulling Kyle away from his family and over to their side and says she made him an offer. Tucker asks what the offer was and Audra tells him the top spot at Jabot alongside her. Tucker thinks she may have overplayed her hand but Audra doesn't think so. She tells him how Kyle has been feeling about Jack but Tucker doesn't think it will be enough. Audra tells him that Kyle is ambitious like they are and is prime for a reset.
Audra gets the text from Kyle and shows Tucker. He isn't convinced that she's gotten through to him but Audra is. Tucker tells her to proceed with caution and she tells him that Kyle wouldn't set her up and that she is in total control. Tucker is worried that she has fallen for Kyle but she assures him that he doesn't have to worry about her. She asks about his feelings for Ashley but Tucker says she doesn't factor into this. Audra thinks if Ashley comes back it will put Tucker off his game but he says it will never happen.
Y&R Recap Today
Nate meets Mamie at the Jazz Room for drinks and says that her being home is a reason to celebrate. She asks about the chaos at Newman Enterprises and Nate is surprised that she knows about it and asks how she knows. Mamie laughs and tells him that she does her research and keeps her ear to the ground and then asks why he would want to be a part of that chaos.
Nate had hoped they could enjoy their drinks before she started in on him about leaving Newman and going back to Chancellor-Winters but Mamie tells him that family should stick together. He reminds her that Devon and Lily don't want him there and she thinks she can deal with that. Nate tells her that there is more to it, that he doesn't want to work somewhere he isn't valued. Mamie asks what she can do to change his mind.
Nate wants to know why it is so important to her for him to come back to Chancellor-Winters and she tells him that she wants to do what she can to bring the family back together. Nate reminds her that she only has a minor stake in the company but she tells him not to underestimate what she can do. She is determined to bring them all back together and reminds him how close they used to be.
Nate tells her that there are many reasons they fell out and says that at Newman he feels appreciated. Mamie brings up his relationship with Victoria and Nate tells her that he loves working with her and that they are in perfect sync on business matters. He tells her that he had to leave Chancellor-Winters to realize his full potential and she asks if maybe he expected too much, too soon.
Nate tells Mamie that he is finally where he belongs and that he is very happy at Newman. Mamie tells him that he will never be family there no matter what and he will never have true power. Nate asks if he would at Chancellor-Winters. Nate admits that Lily and Devon may forgive him someday but that Jill gets a say too. Nate says that Jill isn't part of the dynamic, she is the dynamic. Mamie laughs and says that things change.
Nate doesn't feel like he overstepped at Chancellor-Winters but Devon disagreed. He says that he had big ideas and they didn't align with Devon's conservative approach and Lily was caught between them. The company also belonging to Jill complicated matters even more. Mamie thinks it's funny that Jill co-owns a company with the Winters but can't take any credit for its success.
Mamie thinks Lily, Devon, and Nate would be a power generation together but Nate doesn't see it happening. Mamie tells him not to underestimate her persuasion abilities and asks if he is in if she can make it happen. Nate asks if she is moving against Jill to get her out of the company. Mamie deflects but Nate pushes. Mamie tells him that she thinks Jill will lose interest.
Nate thinks Jill will fight to hang on to the company. Mamie tells him that she knows Jill better than anyone and thinks she will be easily distracted. Nate thinks there is more at play and asks what she isn't telling him. Mamie asks if Nate is accusing her of something and he admits that he is and says something isn't adding up.
Mamie tells him that he is just stalling to avoid her questions. She asks Nate to at least consider her offer and he tells her that he is happy where he is. She points out that wasn't a no and asks him to at least promise to think about it. Nate agrees but also doesn't think she can ever get Devon or Lily to go along with it. Mamie tells him that she is going to have to prove him wrong.
Nate and Mamie walk into the GAC lobby and she thanks him for meeting with her. He tells her that she's given him a lot to think about before hugging her and leaving. Tucker comes downstairs and they make small talk before she goes up to her room.
