Y&R Recap October 20, 2023: Tucker and Mamie Plot Against Jill

The Young and the Restless Recap for Friday, October 20, 2023:

Today on The Young and the Restless, Victor prepares to retaliate against an adversary, Devon interrogates Nate, and Jill digs for dirt on Mamie.

At the office, Victor asks Nate for an update on Adam's work. Nate admits that Adam's work exceeds his expectations. He praises Adam for being punctual, attentive and always one step ahead of what's needed. Adam is going above and beyond his duties to complete the tasks assigned to him. Victor calls Adam the perfect assistant but Nate notices that Victor doesn't seem too pleased. In fact, he looks disappointed. When asked about his reaction, Victor says that he is just curious and not upset about Adam's progress. Nate points out that Adam is concerned about his father's well-being and has noticed some recent odd behavior from Victor. He then thanks Nate for the update and dismisses him.











Tucker decides to pay Mamie a visit. Mamie is skeptical about his visit, telling him that it might not be wise. However, Tucker believes that it is time for them to touch base. Mamie informs him that there is no new development and that he could have phoned her instead. Tucker has seen Mamie with Nate and is curious about what they discussed. Mamie reminds him that Nate is her grandnephew and that their conversation has nothing to do with their arrangement. She clarifies that her interest in collaborating with Tucker is to bring her family under one corporate roof. Although Mamie includes Nate, Tucker thinks that she is misguided, given Nate's history of betraying his family. They both agree that their target is Jill. Mamie expresses her respect for Katherine and for Tucker, being that he is Katherine's son. Tucker reiterates that he is only doing this to secure Devon's future. Tucker tells Mamie that she doesn't need Nate, but she reminds him that she has a stake in Chancellor Winters, and he doesn't want to cross her on this. Tucker is unsure if he should trust Mamie's plan with Nate, but Mamie advises him to trust her. Although Mamie acknowledges that it is a long shot to lure Nate from Newman, she firmly believes that family always wins. Mamie wonders if Tucker has started targeting Jill yet, but he says that he has other priorities at the moment.

Y&R Recap Today

Jill, Lily, and Devon connected via a video call. Jill has no new news about Mamie or why she is interested in Chancellor Winters. Lily suggests that there might be nothing to find, but Jill remains adamant that they need to be on high alert. She informs them that she will be out of commission for a while and asks Lily and Devon to step up. She begs them to keep her in the loop on any developments. Devon wonders how big of a threat Mamie could be if she has some ulterior motive. Jill tells him not to underestimate his great-aunt and is sure that this attack is all about her. As they disconnect from the call, Devon receives a message from Tucker asking if he wants to go to lunch with him. Devon admits that he doesn't know what to believe about his father these days. He has confronted his father about his connection with Mamie, and he told him that there isn't one, but he isn't so sure Tucker is telling the truth. Lily wonders why Devon didn't tell Jill, and he says that he is trying to get more information before passing on what he thinks. Devon decides to tell Tucker that his day is full and he can't make it to lunch. Shortly after, Tucker calls, offering to meet Devon anywhere he chooses. Devon is hesitant, but Tucker persuades him. Devon tells him that there are a few things that he would like to make clear to him and that he wants an honest conversation.

Tucker and Devon meet at the GCAC, where they discuss Domonic for a minute. Tucker then mentions that they are in a good place, but lately, he feels like Devon wants to keep his distance from him, and he would like to know why. Devon admits that Tucker has a lot of drama going on around him, and he just doesn't know if he can trust him. Tucker offers to fix things if Devon will only tell him how. Devon brings up the fact that he also can't shake the feeling that Tucker has something going on with Mamie. Tucker says he is trying really hard and wishes that Devon would meet him halfway. Devon tells him that he can talk to him honestly, and maybe they can start with what happened with Ashley. Tucker says he hates the way things ended between them. He says Ashley will always choose her family over him, and his love for Ashley was always real. Devon then asks Tucker why Jack and Billy thought he was trying to sabotage Jabot. Tucker notes that he might have let off a little steam when he got back from Paris. He was full of rage and made some empty threats, but he didn't have any intentions of acting on those threats. He then shares with Devon that the only reason he is sticking around town is because of him. He wants to fix this rift between them and wonders if it is possible. Devon says it is, if he is telling the truth that he doesn't have some revenge plot against the Abbotts and isn't connected to Mamie. Devon worries that there will be chaos when Ashley returns to town and suggests that Tucker should swallow his pride and make things right with her.

Y&R Recap Today

Nate runs into Nikki and tells her that during his talk with Victor, he seemed pretty clear-headed and very much himself. There was no hint of any odd behavior like Victoria and Adam had mentioned. Nikki suggests that perhaps they had been mistaken. She joins Victor in his office and tells him that she saw Nate outside, and he seemed suspicious that Victor was acting normal. She calls out Victor on his plot and demands that he tell her the truth. He promises her that he is not losing his mind. Victor tells her that with his plan, he is beginning to see some patterns in his children, some of which are upsetting. Nikki says that it is cruel of him to make his children think he might be ill. He wonders if it is any less cruel than the possibility of one of his children betraying him. Nikki notes that Victoria would never betray him, but Victor isn't so sure of that. Nikki walks out as she needs to think about all of this.

Jill calls Victor and tells him that she wants to know all the details. She wants to know everything that went down, leading to Mamie becoming an investor. She wants to know every word Mamie Johnson said to him during this process. Victor wonders what is so unnerving about Mamie getting a stake in Chancellor-Winters. Jill then reminds him of her troubled history with Mamie, and she doesn't trust her. Victor says that at no time did Mamie mention anything that indicated war. Jill then begins to wonder if he would tell her if Mamie had. After the call, Nikki returns and informs Victor that she cannot condone his cruel deception. She advises him that if Victoria, Nick, and Adam figure out that he is laying a trap for them, all hell could break loose.

Mamie crosses paths with Lily at Crimson Lights, and they exchange pleasantries. Lily asks her how it feels to be back, and Mamie says that it is wonderful and that she is settling in. Lily notes that it is nice that she wants a part of the company but finds the mystery surrounding it a little surprising. Mamie tells her that she wanted to ensure everything was in place before revealing herself. Well, she certainly made an impression on Jill, Lily tells her but Mamie couldn't care less about what Jill thinks. She then asks Lily if she doubts her sincerity. Lily admits to thinking about it for a few days now. She says she believes Mamie wants to do the right thing and also wants to shake Jill to her core. Mamie points out that she really wants Nate to be a part of the family company again but Lily notes that it won't bee that easy. Mamie questions what it would take for Lily to trust him and give him another chance.



Devon is leaving the GCAC when he runs into Nate, who asks how Dom is doing. Devon notes that Dom is doing well. After, Devon is about to leave, but Nate stops him to ask about his take on Aunt Mamie's return to town, now that they know she is the new investor at Chancellor Winters. Devon thinks it is great for the family, and he believes her being back in town is the best thing for her. He suggests they work together to make her feel welcome and show her that they value her being there. Nate then says that in the spirit of transparency, Mamie is trying to get him back at the family company, but he is completely happy at Newman.

Alone in his suite, Tucker texts Ashley, asking if there is a way back from this. Later, she replies and tells him no. Tucker is angry and throws his glass at the door, smashing it into pieces
