The Young and the Restless Recap for Monday, October 23, 2023:
Today on The Young and the Restless, Victor makes a promise to Nikki, Nick seeks guidance from Sharon, and Adam makes a shocking discovery.

Claire arrives with Nikki's files for the video conference the next day and tells her she has made a reservation for Nikki's masseuse to give her a massage at the end of the day. Nikki thinks it's thoughtful and thanks her. Nikki encourages Claire not to put too much pressure on herself, and Claire appreciates her words of encouragement. Nikki tells her that she trusts her and that she has already proven herself. Claire tells Nikki that she is settling in slowly and finding her way around without relying on GPS. She has also made some new friends and is looking forward to going out for drinks with them soon. Nikki tells Claire that she wants her to stay because she admires her, but Claire suggests that Nikki should leave and she will lock up. As Nikki leaves, Claire stares at pictures of Victoria and Nikki. Later, in her suite at the GCAC, Claire drinks wine and goes through a stack of Newman press articles.
At the GCAC, Victor invites Adam to join him and asks how he's doing. Adam says he's alright and asks how his father is doing. Victor replies that he's doing very well and feels on top of the world. Victor mentions that Nate told him Adam is doing a good job working for him. Victor confides in Adam that he has a suspicion that Nate is conspiring with Victoria to undermine him and take over the company. Adam agrees that Victoria probably wants her title back, but he's not sure if they are conspiring against Victor. Victor says he's heard whispers and is convinced that they are trying to prove he has lost his marbles. Victor says he's glad he talked to Nick and that he might rejoin Newman to keep an eye on both of them. Adam is skeptical about Nick's willingness to work with Victor, but he agrees to be Victor's ally. He promises to be on Victor's team and have his back whenever he needs it. Victor tells him that he knew he could count on him and they shake hands.

Chloe and Sally meet up at Society. Chloe hopes that Sally has worked things out with Nick, but Sally says that he has been avoiding her. Chloe suggests giving him some space to cool down, but Sally thinks their relationship is already over. She believes that Nick won't forgive her because he thinks she has unresolved feelings for Adam. Chloe asks Sally if that's true, but Sally immediately regrets mentioning it. She then tells Chloe about her talk with Adam where she confessed her feelings to him. Chloe is worried that Adam will take advantage of that and try to win Sally over again, only to break her heart once more. Chloe advises Sally to try to fix things with Nick, but Sally says it's not that simple.
Nick confides in Sharon about what's been going on with his family. He tells her that Victoria thinks their father is in some kind of crisis and he wants to get Sharon's professional opinion on the matter. Nick mentions that his father made a comment about Victoria taking over Newman Media instead of Nikki and also called Adam by the wrong name. Sharon asks what else he's noticed and Nick tells her that his father seems physically fine, but he's been experiencing memory lapses. Sharon points out that Nikki would definitely insist on Victor getting help if she thought he needed it. Nick also tells Sharon that he and Victoria confronted their father, but it only made him angry. Nick wonders if he's overreacting to the situation. Sharon admits that this is way out of her field, but she offers to have a casual conversation with Victor and see if she notices anything unusual. Nick thanks Sharon for helping and offers to set up a time and place for them to run into each other. Sharon sympathizes with Nick and advises him to deal with any unresolved feelings in his relationship with Sally. She also reminds him to talk to Sally about the deal he made with her for her business. Sharon is sorry that things have been difficult for him lately.
Y&R Recap Today
Nick calls Sally and asks to meet with her. Sally meets him at the GCAC and runs into Adam. She tells him that she regrets telling him about her unresolved feelings and that there is no future for them. Nick arrives and Adam wonders if Sally is really going to get back with Nick after telling him about her feelings for Adam. Sally tells Adam that they're not having that conversation and wishes him good luck before saying goodbye. She then thanks Nick for meeting with her. Nick tells her that their conversation will strictly be about her business and nothing more. Sally assumes that he is pulling the plug on their deal, but Nick assures her that he is not. He did consider it, but he made a financial commitment to her and he will honor it. Although things have changed between them, he still believes in her talent.
Y&R Recap Today
Nikki meets with Victor and tells him about her gratitude towards Claire, but she gets the feeling that Victor is not really listening. Victor apologizes and tells her that he had a discussion with Adam earlier. He planted the idea in Adam's head that Victoria might be plotting against him with Nate, and Adam pledged his allegiance to him. Nikki reminds Victor how much she hates this plan because it will hurt people, including him. Victor says he needs to know who will betray him and he believes that he will find out soon. Nikki thinks that if anyone is plotting against him, it's Adam. Later, Nikki texts Victoria and asks her to come to the ranch because she needs to talk to her.
Adam goes to the office and takes a walk around before taking a seat in the big chair. As he looks through the drawer, he finds a pad with a drawing of a snake on it. He wonders to himself, "What the hell is going on with you, Dad?"
