Y&R Recap October 31, 2023: Nate Spills the Beans

The Young and the Restless Recap for Tuesday, October 31, 2023:

Today on The Young and the Restless, Jack calls in a favor with Ashley, Audra pushes Kyle’s buttons, and Devon catches Tucker in a lie.

Y&R Recap Today

Nate pays a visit to his cousin. He expresses his happiness at being able to meet them. They immediately inquire about Aunt Mamie, and ask what led him to summon them to a meeting. Nate explains that he had a couple of encounters with her, and they left him feeling uneasy. Devon asks what was causing the alarms, to which Nate responds by sharing that she keeps urging him to leave Newman and join Lily and Devon at Chancellor Winters. Lily thinks that Mamie is being presumptuous and has no say in the matter. She suggests that they can discuss this in the future, but ultimately, it is not Mamie's company. Nate then reveals that he found out something about her that changes the whole situation, and it's not good. He tells them that he spied a text on Mamie's phone from Tucker, saying they should connect, and she put away the phone pretty fast. Devon realizes that Tucker lied to him about having an interest in Chancellor Winters. He leaves to get some answers from Tucker. 

At the Abbott Mansion, Ashley is delighted that Mamie is back in town. They sit down for a chat, with Diane and Jack at the office. Ashley inquires about Mamie's unexpected and dramatic move concerning Chancellor Winters. Mamie explains that the whole idea was to make a change. Ashley praises Mamie for her ability to balance work life and home life. Mamie admits that she doesn't know much about Tucker and that Jack never really liked him, but she never quite understood why. Ashley explains that Jack was simply being protective of her and Jabot. Mamie wonders if Tucker is truly out to get revenge against the Abbotts. She quickly apologizes for bringing up a painful subject and offers to talk about anything else. Ashley is okay with it and shares that she and Tucker had gotten close and were even planning on starting a company. However, she found it much harder to walk away from her family and her father's legacy than she thought it would be, which upset Tucker. So, when she changed her mind, he got really angry and she had never seen him that angry before. He was in a rage and terrified her, so she had to get away from him. Mamie says she had no idea and urges Ashley not to make excuses for that man. She explains that such behavior is unacceptable. Ashley promises to not let anybody hurt her, her family, or Jabot ever again. Mamie is happy to hear that because family always comes first. 

Y&R Recap Today

Jack and Billy meet up at Crimson Lights. Jack informs Billy that Ashley went to see Tucker. Billy wasn't surprised and asks how it went. Jack tells him that Ashley didn't reveal much, but she did say that this is just the beginning. Ashley is determined to reconnect with Tucker or pretend to in order to find out what he has planned for them. Billy thinks it's possible that Ashley could pull this off, but Jack isn't so sure. Billy calls Jack out for not having enough faith in anyone other than Diane. Billy suggests that they should give their sister the benefit of the doubt. Jack, however, believes that Tucker is dangerous and unpredictable, and there's no telling what he will do once he finds out that Ashley is playing him. Billy understands the risks involved, but he appreciates what Ashley is doing.

Jack then brings up something else that's on his mind. For a while now, he and Diane have been trying to convince Kyle to come back to work at Jabot, now that he's left Newman Media. Jack even offered him the COO position, but Kyle declined, saying he would only come back as Co-CEO. Jack clarifies that he didn't suggest it. Billy thinks that Jack should let Kyle pay his dues and work his way up, but Jack asks if Billy thinks he paid his own dues. Billy finds it insulting that Jack would compare him to Kyle and tells him that he's holding on to his job and will fight to keep it. 

Tucker expresses his disbelief in Kyle's willingness to betray his own family and join their alliance. Kyle clarifies that it is just a business transaction and he is not trying to deceive anyone. However, Tucker is skeptical and believes that this could be a trap. Tucker reminds Kyle that blood is always thicker than water when it comes to the Abbotts, and he doesn't think it will work. Kyle insists that he's making a mistake but Tucker says that he's doing it for self-preservation. Tucker asks Audra for her opinion, but she just tells him to trust her because she is there. Kyle then explains why he is willing to betray his own family and says that he wants what is rightfully his. He also assures Tucker that he always sticks to his commitments, but Tucker thinks that words are cheap. Kyle promises that he will prove his sincerity and do what is necessary to ease Tucker's doubts. Kyle then asks Tucker how Ashley's return to town will affect his plans, to which Tucker responds that they are no longer together, so it has no bearing.

Y&R Recap Today

Devon pays Tucker a visit and asks if he's interrupting anything. Tucker says no, as Audra and Kyle were just leaving. After they depart, Devon asks Tucker about what was happening there. The discussion moves on to Mamie, and Devon asks Tucker directly about his connection to her. He pleads with Tucker to be truthful and admits that Nate saw the text he sent Mamie to come over and talk to him. Tucker confesses that he sent the message and that he's expecting her to arrive soon. His intention is to resolve the issue between him and Devon. When Devon asks if that's the only thing they'll talk about, Tucker insists that there's nothing else to discuss. Devon expresses his concern and the importance of trusting Tucker's words. Tucker reassures him that he's trustworthy and tells him that he's being honest. However, Devon reminds him that they recently had a conversation about trust, and Tucker lied to him. Devon then pleads with Tucker to leave Mamie out of whatever he's involved in because he believes she's innocent and has genuine intentions. 

Devon runs into Mamie downstairs and admits he was upstairs talking to Tucker because he knew they had a meeting scheduled for today. Devon assumed the meeting had something to do with Mamie investing in Chancellor Winters, since Tucker is Katherine's son. However, Devon warns Mamie not to trust Tucker. Mamie immediately goes upstairs to confront him and tells him that her plans have changed. She no longer needs his help with Chancellor Winters. Tucker wonders what changed her mind, and Mamie explains that she had a revealing conversation with Ashley. She learned something about him that she cannot tolerate. Mamie initially trusted Tucker because he is Katherine's son, but now she wants to take her chances on her own. Tucker wonders how Mamie expects to get rid of Jill Abbott without him, but Mamie firmly tells him that he is bad news and she is going to take her chances on her own. Later, Devon returns to Lily's and explains to her how his talk with Tucker went. 

Audra commends Kyle for the way he handled Tucker. However, Kyle admits that he's still uncertain about what Tucker wants from him, especially after Devon's arrival. Audra reminds Kyle that the stakes are high and he needs to make a decision: either he's in or he's out. She then asks Kyle what he would do if his father surprised him by giving him Billy's job. Although Kyle doesn't think it will happen, he admits that he would take the job if offered, even if it meant ending their alliance.
