Y&R Recap October 6, 2023: It's Time for A Big Celebration

The Young and the Restless Recap for Friday, October 6, 2023:

Today on The Young and the Restless, as Jack and Diane prepare to celebrate their nuptials, Lauren gives Phyllis unsolicited advice.

Y&R Recap Today

Billy is getting ready to leave the GAC after eating when he sees Tucker at the bar. He goes over to him and tells him that he's surprised that he is still in town. Tucker asks Billy why he would leave and Billy reminds him about the evidence he has against him and how much everyone hates him. Tucker replies that his son and grandson are in town and don't hate him and he's not planning on going anywhere. He assures Billy that his plans for revenge are done. Billy tells him that he doesn't believe him and Tucker says that he doesn't know what he can do to prove it to him. Billy replies that he can leave Genoa City and never come back.

Tucker tells Billy that he might be more mercenary than he thought. Billy asks what he means by that and Tucker points out that he contemplated turning on Jack for the chance to run Jabot and now he is helping Jack try to run him off. Billy tells him that his only objective is protecting his family and their father's legacy. Tucker tells him that Ashley said the same thing. He wonders if the Abbotts are a family or a cult. Billy tells Tucker to not even think about crashing the reception today and before he leaves he tells him that he's a fool to think he's smarter than everyone else. 

After Billy leaves, Tucker thinks about his last conversation with Audra and then texts her and tells her that he needs her to rekindle her relationship with Kyle. 

Y&R Recap Today

Lauren stops at Crimson Lights for a coffee and Phyllis comes in and smiles when she sees her. Phyllis remembers a conversation they had about Lauren standing by her. She smiles and goes over to her but then is upset when she sees Lauren holding a garment bag with Diane's name on it. Phyllis accuses Lauren of sticking a knife in her back after Lauren confirms that it's Diane's dress for her wedding reception. Lauren tells her that Jack called and asked for a favor and she loves him too so she agreed. 

Lauren tells Phyllis that if she wants to convince people she has changed she should let go of the Jack and Diane thing. Phyllis says that she can't let go of the Diane part of it and says that they shouldn't be getting married at all. Lauren asks her if she's planning on blowing up the reception. Phyllis promises that she's not going to do anything and asks if Lauren wants her to deliver the dress. Lauren turns her down and says that Chloe is on her way to pick it up. 

She asks Phyllis about the job with Daniel but Phyllis is still unsure. Lauren tells her that she should be thankful he made the offer after everything she put him and Summer through. Chloe arrives and Lauren gives her the dress and tells her to keep it away from Phyllis. Before leaving to catch her flight she reminds Phyllis about her promise and Chloe leaves right after she does. 

Y&R Recap Today

Phyllis goes to the Jazz room and sees Danny playing the piano. She sits down and listens to him happily. She watches him play until he decides to take a break. She offers to buy him a drink but he tells her that he's having a late lunch with Daniel. She asks him how much Daniel hates her and Danny tells her that Daniel will always love her but he doesn't trust her and he's disappointed. He tells her that the situation makes them both sad. Phyllis says that being judged by everyone makes her sad. 

Danny tells her that they would love to give her the benefit of the doubt, but she needs to prove herself to them. He says that there are a lot of people there for her, even him. Phyllis is surprised after everything she did to him but he tells her that he means it. She asks what she can do to prove it and he tells her to be positive about herself and life and things will work out. She says that it sounds exhausting and he accuses her of scoffing at every suggestion anyone gives her. He tells her that if she believes in herself it will make it easier for others to believe in her too. 

Phyllis asks Danny if he's ever going to finish his song and he takes her over to the piano with him. She sits on the bench and watches him play. He finally finishes the bridge he's working on and asks what she thinks. She loves it and he thanks her for the inspiration. Phyllis thanks him for being so supportive of her. 

Y&R Recap Today

Jack and Tracy are going over last-minute details for the wedding party when Diane comes in freaking out because her dress isn't there yet. She thinks she made a mistake getting the dress from Lauren since she is best friends with Phyllis. Tracy asks if she's worried that Phyllis will do something to mess up the celebration.  Tracy and Jack do their best to assure her that Phyllis won't do anything to ruin their party. 

Kyle comes downstairs and Jack asks him to make sure he is back in time for the reception and Kyle asks them if he can bring a date. Tracy excuses herself to deal with a napkin emergency and they ask Kyle if he's planning on bringing Audra. He tells them that he and Audra are over and Jack tells him why he is happy about that, Kyle bristles and they agree to never bring it up again. Diane tells Kyle that they were hoping he would attend with Summer for Harrison's sake. Kyle agrees and she adds that it could be a first step for them. Kyle tells her that it will be the only step because they are not getting back together. 

Diane agrees to back off and Jack asks who Kyle was thinking about asking. Kyle tells him that he changed his mind because it's too soon to introduce Harrison to a stranger. Diane and Jack ask him to officiate their vow renewal. Kyle is honored they asked and agrees to do it. Diane is relieved when Chloe arrives with her dress and Lauren's apologies for missing the reception. Diane is happy that the dress is there and perfect. Jack tells Diane that Lauren knows how happy she makes him so she supports their relationship. 

Jack is downstairs alone when Billy arrives and updates him about his meetings and tells him about his run-in with Tucker. Jack can't believe he's still in town and Billy tells him that Tucker has no intention of leaving. Billy forwards an email to him confirming he returned Jabot's funds and Jack tells him that he doesn't need it because he trusts him. Billy tells Jack that Tucker said he was backing off and staying in town for Devon and Dominic. Billy thinks they should still try to turn Devon against him but Jack shoots it down. Billy tells Jack that he is not going to let Tucker do anything to run the reception and Jack tells him to let Tucker be security's problem. 

Jack tells Billy that he isn't spending any more time or energy on Tucker and he wants today to be perfect. Diane comes down in her dress and Jack is blown away by how she looks. 

Y&R Recap Today

At the reception Summer and Kyle are talking to Tracy when Chance walks in and Kyle notices Summer noticing Chance. Summer's smile fades and she excuses herself to get a glass of champagne when she sees Sharon join Chance and link her arm through his. Kyle notices this too and Tracy notices everything. Jack asks for everyone's attention and thanks them all for coming to help them celebrate their love and marriage. He asks any naysayers to look into their eyes and see how powerful, genuine, and strong his and Diane's love story is. Every except Billy claps as Jack and Diane share a kiss. Tracy gives him a look and claps harder.
