General Hospital Episode Recap and Spoilers for Today, Friday, November 17, 2023: Austin Is Shot!
What happened today on General Hospital: Laura makes an offer. Robert seeks Felicia’s help. Josslyn shares some hard truths with Spencer. Sonny wants answers from Nina. Willow encourages Carly.
GH Recap Today
Jordan goes to Laura’s office and Laura asks her if she would like to remain deputy mayor on a permanent basis. Laura thanks her for everything she did while Laura was busy dealing with her family stuff. Jordan asks her how things are going with Charlotte and Laura tells her that they need time to sort it all out which is why she wants Jordan to stay. Cyrus arrives and asks Laura if she has time for her brother.
Cyrus tells Laura that he came to tell her that he found a job washing dishes at the PC Grille. Laura is surprised that he got the job, and Cyrus tells her that the manager works for the group that helps recently released prisoners. Laura congratulates him on his new job and then tells him to leave. After he’s gone, Jordan says that she doesn’t believe anything he says.
Laura knows her brother's history but wonders if maybe he really has changed. She says maybe he’s just an old man who wants to live his life in peace and be a simple dishwasher. Jordan doesn’t believe that and says that all that Cyrus cares about is power, and he always will. Laura tells Jordan that she understands that she can keep a better eye on Cyrus as the police commissioner so she understands if she wants to turn down the job. Jordan tells her that she’s not gonna let Cyrus be an obsession and accepts Laura’s offer to be the permanent deputy mayor. Laura’s thrilled and tells her that she thinks they’ll do great work together.

Robert goes to the hospital to see Felicia but waits until she’s done with her patients to talk to her. After she’s finished, she comes over and asks him why he’s there and he tells her he needs her help. Felicia assumes that Robert wants help with Anna and he asks if Felicia has talked to her. Felicia says that she’s been texting her but Anna hasn’t responded. Robert says that she hasn’t responded to him either and if he didn’t know any better, he would think she was hiding from him.
Felicia thinks that he is she is hiding from him. She thinks Anna is avoiding Robert because she wants to handle everything on her own. Felicia reminds Robert how independent Anna is but he’s worried that Anna is avoiding him because he was so against her being with Valentin. He thinks she might be worried he’ll say I told you so, but Felicia assures him that Anna knows him better than that. After Robert leaves the patient thanks Felicia for all of her help.

Spencer goes to Joss and Trina‘s dorm room, and Joss invites him in. When he goes into the room, he sees all the flower arrangements and says he may have gone overboard. Spencer asks Joss how mad Trina is with him on a scale of 1 to 10 and Joss says it’s an 11. She tells Spencer that if Dex had given her an ultimatum like Spencer gave to Trina, she would’ve ended it. Joss asks Spencer if he had to choose between being with Trina or living with Ace and Esme what he would do and he admits that he doesn’t know.
Spencer talks to Joss about how much he loves Trina and how connected they are. He doesn’t want to lose her. Joss says that that’s his answer then. Spencer's not sure that Esme can take care of Ace alone and he wants to be there for his brother. He asks Joss isn’t what’s best for the baby the most important thing. Joss understands Spencer wanting to be there for his brother but tries to get him to see how it looks from Trina’s point of view.
She says that he’s a couple with Trina and spends time with her and goes on trips with her, but then goes home to Esme and Ace. Spencer asks if that’s so impossible and Joss says that it’s not impossible but it’s not fair to anyone including him. Spencer asks what the alternative is. He asks if he should just let Esme and Ace move out and only see his little brother on the weekends and he tells her that he can’t do that.
Joss says that he needs to. She tells him that it’s going to end eventually anyway. Eventually, Esme will meet somebody that she wants to share her life with and things will have to change anyway. Joss tells Spencer that he’s an adult now, this isn’t like when they were kids and he just wanted to get everything he wanted, this time he really has to choose.

Marshall is making dinner and talking to Curtis when Trina comes in angrily and asks if Portia is there. Curtis tells her that she’s at work and asks if there’s anything he can do. Trina says she’s going to her room. Curtis stops her and asks her to talk to him. She’s not sure that she should because he and Marshall both don’t like Spencer, but they promise to keep an open mind to help her.
She tells them what happened and neither of them is happy about the ultimatum. Trina notices that Spencer keeps calling her phone and she keeps ignoring his calls Curtis and Marshall promise to help her figure out what to do and she says that she’s open to their advice as long as it’s not that she talk to Spencer Curtis tells her that’s exactly what she needs to do.
Marshall talks to Trina and she realizes that she doesn’t want to break up with Spencer. Curtis questions why she doesn’t want Spencer and Esme to live together and Trina says that Spencer is Ace’s brother, not his father. Curtis understands Spencer wanting to be there for his brother with Nik out of the picture. Trina says that she’s trying to be patient but she reached her limit. Marshall advises her to say that to Spencer.
Marshall talks to Trina about his wife and how she was his first love. He asks if Spencer is her first love, and she says mostly. Curtis asks her what she means and she tells them about how she, Joss, Cameron, and Oscar were friends. She says she had strong feelings for Cameron, but not anything like what she feels for Spencer. She thought Spencer was her future, but now she’s not sure. Curtis talks to Trina about how he prioritizes his relationships and he asks her if Spencer is her first priority.
Trina doesn’t like what that question implies and says that school is her first priority. Curtis appreciates that and tells her that that’s not what he’s talking about. He asks her who her first text is to in the morning and who her last text is at night, and she admits that it’s Spencer. Curtis says she has her answer, and now she has to ask that question to Spencer and see what his answer is

Michael and Willow go to Kelly’s and Willow tells Michael that Carly has something to tell him. He asks what it is and Carly tells him that Nina offered to sell her back her half of the MetroCourt. Michael thinks back to his conversation with Nina demanding she sell her half of the MetroCourt back to Carly, but pretends to be surprised when talking to Carly. He asks for details about the offer. Carly tells Willow and Michael about her conversation with Nina and Willow thinks that this deal is the perfect way to heal their family.
Willow tells her that she never should’ve lost her half of the hotel in the first place and Drew never should’ve gone to prison, but now he’s home and they can all move on. Willow says Carly getting her hotel back balances the scales. Carly says it’s not that simple and says that she can’t just accept the offer, she has to figure out how to pay for it first. Willow tells Michael that’s where he comes in. Michael tells Carly he would happily give her the money for the hotel.
She tells him that she didn’t take it from Joss and she’s not going to take it from him either. He tells her how blessed he was with money from his family and says that he wouldn’t even miss the money that it would take to get her hotel back. Carly tells Willow that she thinks Nina made the offer for her and she appreciates that but she can’t take Nina up on her offer. She thanks Michael for his offer to help her pay for it but she tells them that if she doesn’t get her hotel back on her own, it won’t feel like it’s hers.

Sonny arrives at the MetroCourt to have dinner with Nina and asks her why she’s selling her half of the MetroCourt back to Carly. Nina reminds Sonny that it was his idea that she sell it and he tells her that that was a while ago but now she’s doing well with it and Carly is settled into Kelly’s and everybody has peace. He asks why she wants to rock the boat. Nina tells Sonny she knows that she and Carly will never be friends but it’s best for everyone if they leave the past in the past, and she feels that starts with selling Carly back her hotel.
Sonny asks Nina why she didn’t tell him about her decision to sell it back to Carly and she tells him that it was a bit business decision between her and Carly and it doesn’t have anything to do with him. Sonny tells her she’s not that naïve. He tells her that her selling Carly the hotel affects the entire family. Nina asks Sonny if he advised Carly to take her offer. Sonny says he knows better than to give Carly advice, but that he hopes she takes Nina up on her offer. He’s not sure that she will though because she told him that she’s happy at Kelly’s. He thanks Nina for being the bigger person and trying to heal the rift.

Dante’s working at the PCPD when an officer comes in and tells him that Austin is there to see him. Austin walks into the interrogation room and tells Dante he’s there to give him what he wants. Dante says that he was expecting Austin and Austin says that he’s surprised that he’s there. Austin wants Dante to keep his name out of everything and says that he won’t testify. Dante tells him that he’s practically a suspect himself in many crimes and if he wants leniency now is the time to make a deal.
Austin turns off the recorder and tells Dante he’ll only give him a name after he gets a deal. He wants no prison time and he will not testify. Dante tells him that he doesn’t have the authority to make that deal and he’s about to walk out when Austin says he needs to make a deal before his boss finds out that he is there. Dante tells Austin he has to give them something if he wants a deal, Austin says he can get them proof and thanks Dante for giving him the chance to do the right thing before he leaves.
Robert comes into the PCPD and Dante tells him about Austin wanting a deal to turn over his boss. Robert says that they haven’t been able to make a case against Austin so they should give him a deal. Austin walks into his house and there are gunshots. A man walks out and Austin is shown bleeding on the floor with gunshots to his chest.
