What happened today on The Young and the Restless: Phyllis weighs her options, Daniel romances Lily, and Sharon and Summer both stand their ground.

Lily and Daniel are having lunch at the GCAC. He asks how the food is, and she says that it is good. She mentions that she has a lot on her mind. He wants to clarify something; he was getting ready to show Sally and Chloe the apartment, and Sally asked if he had any general design ideas. Then Heather and Lucy showed up at the door. He had no idea they were back in town, and he guesses they wanted to surprise him. It was not a planned visit. He was hoping that Lily would be back from her meeting with Devon, so they could talk to Sally about her ideas. Lily stops him, and Daniel admits that he is not worried about her and Lucy getting along. He just wants to ensure that Heather moving back to town will not be a problem for them. Lily tells him that he is making way more of this than he needs to. He says that she has been quiet since they are having dinner, but she tells him that it does not mean she is upset because she is not. He asks what is on her mind. She says that she is disappointed that she missed his conversation with Sally, and that's all. He admits that he really wanted her there. Lily blames herself for running late, citing that her meeting with Devon ran longer than expected. Daniel suggests that they cancel dinner and go back to his apartment. She thought he wanted dessert, but he says not as much as he wants to give her a private tour of his new apartment right now.
Lily and Daniel arrive at his apartment, but the place is dark. Daniel tells Lily that he needs to turn on the electricity, but he only has a flashlight app on his phone. Lily searches for her own flashlight but cannot find it. Daniel suggests looking for a flashlight around the apartment, but Lily suggests using candles instead. Daniel is concerned that they won't be able to see Sally's vision, but Lily thinks it's a romantic setting. He kisses her and compliments her beauty. As they look through the designs, Lily suggests going upstairs to her apartment where there is light. They go upstairs and make love. Afterward, Lily wonders if she has convinced Daniel that she is not worried about Heather. He admits that she has convinced him a little. Lily decides to try again and kisses him.

Phyllis meets Danny at Crimson Lights and asks him about his dinner plans with their son. However, Danny informs her that they had to reschedule because Daniel had a last-minute change of plans. Phyllis wonders if it's because he was aware that she was invited. She suggests that they can still have dinner without Daniel, but Danny apologizes and notes that he made other arrangements. Just then, Christine arrives and Danny asks about Chance's well-being. Phyllis learns that Chance was shot during a robbery and expresses her shock, mentioning that Summer has become friends with him. She decides to get in touch with her daughter. Danny and Christine prepare to leave for their dinner and Phyllis wishes them a good time. Danny promises that they will do dinner soon and she looks forward to it.
Chance wakes up at the hospital and sees Sumemr sitting next to him. He asks her why she is there while Sharon watches from afar. Before Sumemr can respond, Nina enters the room and is relieved to see that her son has regained consciousness. She tells him that she just spoke to his doctor and he said that Chance is going to be alright. Chance reassures his mother that he's tough and will be fine. Nina admonishes him for putting her through this and asks him what he was thinking. He tells her not to cry, as he can't bear to see her upset. Confused, Nina reminds him that they have been through similar situations before. She tells him that his job may not be too dangerous for him, but it definitely is for her. Chance apologizes for the trouble he has caused them all. As the questions start, Chance explains that he was at a jewelry town robbery downtown when he got shot.

Summer informs them that she has to leave but expresses her relief that Chance is doing well. Chance expresses his gratitude towards Summer for coming to visit and Nina also thanks her while apologizing for what she had to go through with her mom. Summer acknowledges that she has been through a lot, but Chance was there to support her. Elena arrives just as Summer departs and requests that the ladies exit the room so that Chance can rest. Chance remarks that he can't wait to leave the hospital. Sharon takes her leave, and Nina asks for just five more minutes with her son. Chance assumes that Nina wants to convince him to quit his job, and he encourages her to do so. He admits that the first thing he thought of when he went down was that he didn't want to go through it again. Nina asks if he is genuinely having a change of heart. He acknowledges that he hasn't fully made up his mind yet. He shouldn't be making any life-changing decisions while sitting there with a hole in his chest. Nina agrees. However, she really, really hopes that he decides not to be a cop anymore.
Summer is outside crying when Sharon approaches and asks if she's okay. Summer confirms that she is, but admits that she's scared for Chance. Sharon shares the good news that Chance is going to be okay soon. Summer hopes Sharon doesn't find it odd that she came to the hospital to see him, but Sharon reassures her that it's comforting for Chance to see his friends rather than strangers.

Summer arrives at Crimson Lights where Phyllis is reflecting. She asks about Chance and Summer confirms that she just visited him at the hospital and he's doing okay. However, Summer appears upset and when Phyllis asks about it, Summer brushes it off and tells her not to get involved. Phyllis persists, but Summer accuses her of interfering with Daniel's life when she tried to bring Heather and Lucy closer to him. Phyllis denies this and reminds Summer that she's her mother and cares about her. She also asks if there's something going on with Chance, but Summer tells her to stop and reminds her that he's dating Sharon. Phyllis believes Sharon is only interested in Nick and suggests that Summer may have feelings for Chance. Summer admits she does, but doesn't want to come between him and Sharon. Phyllis is proud of her daughter's restraint. Later, as Summer is leaving, she runs into Sharon and imagines telling her about her feelings for Chance.
During their dinner date, Nina gives Christine a good update that Chance might be able to come home in a day or two, which Danny finds amazing. The conversation shifts to Sharon and Chance's relationship, and Christine admits that Nina is not too pleased about it due to Sharon's romantic history. After dinner, Christine reveals to Danny that, despite having eaten at all the restaurants in the world, she still misses their famous pasta sauce. Danny offers to make it for her again, and they both agree to make it happen. As they hold hands, Phyllis watches them from outside.
