The Young and the Restless Recap for Today, November 13, 2023:
What happened today on The Young and the Restless: Victor does damage control with Adam, Nate gives Victoria the cold shoulder, Nick considers returning to Newman Enterprises and Nikki receives an unexpected invitation.
Y&R Recap Today
Sharon is at Crimson Lights, talking to Elena on the phone about Chance's condition. Nick walks in and Sharon promises to check on Chance first thing in the morning. She tells Nick that Chance was shot and his promotion was meant to keep him out of danger. Sharon informs him that Chance is awake and stable and that Summer was at the hospital with him. Nick tells Sharon that his father found the traitor he was looking for and it was Nate, not Adam. Sharon is shocked as Nate is a doctor and wonders why he would use Victor's mental health to his advantage. Nick says that his father wants him to return to Newman, as he doesn't have any allies except his mother. Sharon understands his predicament and acknowledges that he always looks out for his family. Nick admits that he hasn't decided what to do yet, but he is committed to Sharon and she can still come to her for advice. Sharon talks about Kirsten and how she would like to continue as partners. Sharon encourages him to do what he has to do for his family.
At the office, Victoria knocks on Nikki's door. Nikki asks what it is and Victoria asks her mom if she’s serious. Nikki says she is tired, and it's late; she wants to send Claire home. However, Victoria wants to talk about what her father did and how her mother knew about it. Nikki knows Victoria is upset, but she suggests they talk about it tomorrow. Victoria accuses her mother of allowing her father to set a trap for them. Nikki admits that she told Victor she did not agree with it when she found out. Victoria asks her mother how she could let Victor treat them like that anyway, after what happened in the office. Victoria says she doesn’t understand why she couldn’t sleep at night. She thought she was going to lose her father. She asks her mother how she could do that to her. Nikki admits that she didn’t want to keep Victor's secret, but he was adamant. Victoria says she didn’t have to listen to him. Nikki explains that Victor convinced her that if Victoria knew the truth, she would tell Nate everything, and she understood his logic. Victoria thinks her mother despises Nate, but Nikki says she only did not trust him and hopes Victoria realizes that she cannot trust him either. Victoria doesn’t want to talk about Nate anymore. Claire comes in and interrupts. She apologizes for doing that, and Victoria leaves them to talk. On her way out, her mother begs her not to do anything rash. Victoria says she doesn’t know what she’s going to do. Claire apologizes because it sounds like Nikki was in something important. Nikki then asks her what has her upset?

Claire informs Nikki that her aunt fell and broke her arm while at home. Nikki asks if Claire's aunt lives alone, to which Claire confirms and reveals that a housekeeper comes once a week, but there is no full-time caretaker. Nikki advises Claire to immediately visit her aunt to check on her. Claire agrees to visit for a few days and Nikki supports her by telling her to take all the time she needs. Claire expresses gratitude for Nikki's generosity. Nikki believes it is important for Claire to prioritize taking care of her aunt as she is a valuable person to her. Claire agrees and admits that her aunt means everything to her. Claire reveals that there is something important she wants to tell Nikki. Despite feeling embarrassed, she believes that Nikki should know. It turns out that Claire's aunt, Jordan, is a big fan of Nikki and is thrilled that Claire works for her. Jordan was planning to visit Claire this weekend in hopes of meeting Nikki and thanking her for hiring Claire. However, Jordan recently broke her arm and cannot travel. Nikki tells Claire that she is planning to visit her sister Casey in Denver and came up with an idea. Since Oregon is on the way, Nikki offers to take Claire on the Newman jet. Claire is overjoyed and thanks Nikki. She then asks another favor, suggesting that Nikki stop to meet her aunt for a quick tea. Nikki agrees, understanding how much it means to Claire, but she emphasizes that she has limited time with her sister and can only stay for a short while. Claire expresses her gratitude.

Adam walks into the office and tells his father that he is still waiting for an answer. Victor asks him what he is talking about, and Adam reminds him that he asked where he stands in the company now that Nate is out and Nick was offered a position. Victor says that he hasn't made a decision yet. Adam asks his father if there is a timeline for when he will know. Victor admits that he thought Adam would take advantage of his mental decline, but he is grateful that Adam did not betray him and protected him instead. Adam appreciates Victor's honesty and promises to be brutally honest with him as well. Adam admits that when he said he wanted to start at the bottom and work his way up, it was all a lie. He was angry, hurt, and wanted revenge. Adam wanted his father to believe in his intentions and then pounce when the time was right. He acknowledges that Victor made a masterful move, and it was warranted. Adam asks again what will happen to him. Victor questions if he still wants to work his way up from the bottom. Adam believes he deserves Nate's position at the very least. Victor explains that having Adam take over Nate's position while Victoria remains boss number two will cause friction, and he doesn't want that around him. He advises Adam to work out his differences with his sister. Adam feels like he'll always be the third wheel and that Victoria and Nick will outrank him, no matter how many times he proves himself to Victor. Adam leaves the office.
Y&R Recap Today
Nick runs into Adam at Newman and they discuss their recent family meeting. Nick expresses his surprise at Adam not being the traitor and Nick admits that he never trusted Nate. Adam feels that Nick still doesn't trust him despite their father's approval of his loyalty. They discuss Nate's plan to use their father's illness to his advantage, which Nick is relieved Adam didn't do. Nick admits that he is always on guard when it comes to Adam, especially regarding their father. Nick heads to Victor's office, but Adam informs him that Victor took the day off and wonders if it's related to Victor's request for him to return to the company.
Victoria arrives at the Jazz Lounge and orders a drink. She reflects on her conversation with Nate and looks at his contact profile on her phone. Nick arrives and orders a beer. Victoria is surprised to see him and asks about Christian. Nick explains that he checked on Christian and helped him with his homework before leaving him with the nanny. He asks why Nate isn't texting her back, and she admits that he's not responding. Nick advises her to let it go, but she believes Nate's explanation. Victoria wonders if Nate will fight for his job at Newman or return to Chancellor Winters. Nick mentions his encounter with Adam at the office. Victoria asks Nick about their father's request for him to return to Newman and where it's leading.
Victor finds Nikki and they discuss the recent family drama. Nikki informs him that Victoria is upset and she wants him to be prepared. Victor doesn't want to talk about it and just wants to enjoy their time together. They talk about Claire's emergency with her aunt and Nikki's offer to give her a seat on the Newman jet. Nikki is considering not leaving town due to the family upheaval, but Victor advises her to take the trip and rest. Nikki agrees.
