Today on The Young and the Restless, as The Young and the Restless celebrates Lauralee Bell’s 40th anniversary, Christine reminisces about her romantic entanglements and past rivalries.

Christine and Phyllis bump into each other in the park. Phyllis tells Christine that Danny is in town for a few days. Christine mentions that she saw him last night. Phyllis is surprised that another one of Christine's exes is in town after she ended things with Paul. She wonders if Christine is trying to get back together with Danny, but Christine refuses to discuss her personal life. Phyllis advises her not to chase after Danny again, but Christine points out that chasing is Phyllis's thing. She heard that Phyllis has been spending time with Danny and suggests that she should focus on getting her own miserable life back on track. Christine leaves, and Phyllis is left alone with her thoughts.
She remembers an argument with Christine about Christine taking away her son. Lauren arrives and asks if she is okay. Phyllis tells her that she just saw Christine and that Christine will always see her as a thorn in her side. Lauren asks if Phyllis will ever see Christine in a different light. Phyllis says she has tried to make peace with her.

At Crimson Lights, Esther notices that Christine seems a little out of sorts and asks if everything is alright. Christine admits that she has a lot going on at the moment. Just then, Nina walks in and offers to lend an ear as an old friend. She expresses her regret that Christine and Paul's marriage didn't work out. Christine reveals that now that her marriage is ending, she's focusing on what comes next. The two women reminisce about their friendship, recalling both the good times and the not-so-good times (like when Nina stole Philip away from her).
Nina apologizes for that and notes that, despite everything, she got a great son out of it. Christine says she wants the best for Paul and hopes they can remain friends. She admits that she's searching for what the next phase of her life will be. Nina wonders what the future holds for her as well. Later, Christine shares with Nina that she saw Danny last night. Nina asks if that reawakened any old feelings for him, given their shared history. As they stroll down memory lane, Nina asks if Christine would want to rekindle what she and Danny had all those years ago, but Christine is not sure. Nina reminds her that it was Phyllis's fault the way things ended. Christine acknowledges that they missed their chance, but Nina suggests that Christine could explore the possibility of a reunion.
At the Jazz Lounge, Danny is playing the piano and reflecting on his recent conversation with Christine about her breakup with Paul. Daniel, his son, arrives and compliments Danny's tune. He asks Danny about what's going on in his life. Danny tells him that he already saw Christine since her return to town and advises him not to read more into it than there really is. Daniel sarcastically comments that he can't ignore the history between his father and Christine. Danny admits that he was more affected than he thought he would be when Christine revealed that it was over with Paul. Now that Christine is free, it stirs up old feelings and he's thinking about what could've been and maybe what could still be.
At this moment, Lauren and Phyllis enter the lounge. Lauren greets Danny and Daniel asks if something happened with his mother at work. Phyllis tells him no, but she had a little run-in with Christine. Daniel wonders if she'll ever let go of the past, but he doesn't expect them to be best friends. Phyllis announces that she's going to make peace with Cricket and leave the past behind. Lauren has to leave for a meeting but suggests that she and Danny catch up soon.
Y&R Recap Today
Daniel shares with his mother that he has been hearing great things about her work at Omega Sphere. She informs him of how hard she is working and how she is trying to improve herself. She declares that today is day one of her effort to have a Christine-free brain. Although Daniel thinks it will be difficult for her to succeed even for a day, he is hopeful that they can all get along.
Lauren meets with Christine and Nina at Crimson Lights. She asks Christine how her trip was and then learns that Christine and Paul have ended their relationship. Nina tells Lauren that Christine is trying to figure out her way forward. Lauren wonders if Christine means professionally and reminds her how much she and Michael love being in practice together. Christine reflects on the time she spent in practice with Michael. Later, she notes how Lauren and Nina have careers that they love, and they also have terrific children. She wonders if she made a mistake by putting her career ahead of her family and if she should have made different choices. Lauren and Nina advise her not to second-guess herself.
She says Paul wanted a family and she put him off. Christine reflects on the one chance she and Paul had to have a child but she lost the baby. Nina believes that having children may not be an option at this point in her life, but it is not too late for love. Christine informs Lauren that Nina thinks she should explore things with Danny, who is visiting town for a short while. Although she is uncertain about it, Christine does not want to deal with Phyllis's interference at the moment. Lauren shares that she just met with Phyllis, who claims to want to improve. Lauren leaves to grab a coffee before her upcoming meeting and tells Christine to call her if she needs anything. Christine expresses her gratitude to Nina for their friendship, stating that she now has more clarity about the direction she wants to take.
Daniel remembers he has a meeting and suggests that Phyllis could accompany him. However, before they leave, Phyllis asks Danny if he would like to have dinner with her tonight. Christine enters the room just as Danny is about to respond, so he tells Phyllis they will figure something out later.
After Daniel and Phyllis leave, Danny tells Christine that he has been thinking about her. He invites her to sit with him at the piano and listen to something he has been working on. He reassures her that she doesn't have to sing and then plays a beautiful instrumental piece for her that she finds beautiful.
