The Young and the Restless Recap for November 6, 2023:
What happened today on The Young and the Restless: Victor summons the Newmans to a meeting, Claire keeps a secret from Nikki, and Mariah and Tessa are tested as parents.
Y&R Recap Today
Sharon and the girls are at Crimson Lights, waiting for Aria to have her hearing aids fitted. Tessa and Mariah, however, seem a little apprehensive and express their fear that the hearing aids might not work. Sharon encourages them to feel however they feel and promises that they will do everything they can to make Aria comfortable. Mariah admits that their biggest fear is what if the hearing aids don't work. Sharon understands their concerns and assures them that things will get better. She reminds them of the magical and beautiful moment when Aria will hear the sounds of the earth and her parents' voices. With encouragement in mind, they leave early for their appointment and promise to update Sharon as soon as they leave Dr. George's office.
At Dr. George's office, Mariah and Tessa are playing with Aria until Dr. George arrives with the hearing aids. Mariah expresses how agonizing it has been to wait for them, but they are finally ready to help Aria start hearing the world around her. Dr. George has every reason to believe that the hearing aids are the right ones, but wouldn't know for sure until they are put in. Before the process, Dr. George gives them her advice. After the hearing aids are put in, Mariah calls out to Aria, and she responds. Tessa sings to her as they all rejoice over the success of the process.

At the office, Nikki is lost in thought, reflecting on her conversation at Society with Nick and Victoria about Victor. Claire interrupts her thoughts and asks if everything is alright. Nikki responds that it is just some family issues and when Claire inquires if it has anything to do with her children, Nikki clarifies that it is a disagreement between her and Victor about how to handle something. Claire offers her help, but Nikki declines, saying that the issue will resolve itself and everything will be fine. Nikki appreciates Claire's concern and thanks her for it. After that, Claire leaves Nikki, telling her that she is there if she needs anything.
Adam and Nick meet at the GCAC. Adam is worried that his brother might inform their father about his plan. Nick notes the plan is for a random doctor to stage an encounter with their father and assess his mental state covertly. Nick still struggles to believe Adam's sincerity and concern, despite Adam reminding him that he donated a kidney to save his daughter. Adam notes that he also took a bullet for Victor, and he still has the scar. While Nick and Adam work through their plan, Adam pleads with Nick to trust him and give him a chance to find out if their father needs them desperately. Victor arrives, he says, "I'll be damned," as he is surprised to see his two sons talking about building a new business empire, Nick insists that this needs to stop immediately since Victor's memory is failing and he needs assistance. Nick reveals that Adam has invited him under false pretenses to stage an accidental meeting with a specialist who could observe Victor and make a diagnosis. However, Victor isn't interested in any help, and the fact that Adam tried to trick him tells him everything he needs to know. Victoria arrives just as Victor is about to leave. He wonders what is she doing there. She suggests that they talk at the Ranch, but Victor insists that they all go to the office right away.
Y&R Recap Today
Victoria enters Victor's office to discuss the new shipping contract he recently agreed to. When Victor asks if it can wait until tomorrow, Victoria responds that it cannot. She explains that the contract is not viable due to unfavorable numbers and is not a deal that Victor would typically endorse. Victoria requests that Victor explain why he thought it was a smart move. He feels insulted by Victoria's questioning of his business acumen and wonders if she is implying that he is unfit to run his own company. Despite Victoria's good intentions, Victor becomes upset and says he has to leave for a meeting with Adam. When Nate offers to take Victor to the meeting, it only further angers him. Victor insists that he is his own driver and storms out of the office.
Victoria is worried about the outcome of her father's meeting with Adam and thinks she should have stopped him from going. She fears that Adam may expose her father and the company to the world, making them more vulnerable than ever. However, Nate interrupts her and insists on telling her something important. Despite Victoria's initial resistance, Nate reveals that her father, Victor, had secretly confided in him that he was concerned about his health and needed help to get to the bottom of it. Nate also discloses that if something were to happen to Victor, Victoria would have to step in as interim CEO, but Victor would need to meet with Adam before making any decisions. This makes Victoria angry, and she storms out of the office.
Nate runs into Claire at the office. He jokingly points out that she is watching where she is going this time. She looks a little stressed, so Nate asks if Nikki has been piling on the work. Claire says no, Nikki is a fantastic boss and she has been very supportive. Nate then wonders why Claire looks worried if everything is going well. Claire admits that this is a big job, and even though she doesn't plan on leaving, she wants to be the best assistant that Nikki has ever had. Sometimes she is not sure if she is doing the right thing. Nate reassures her that he has no doubt that she is doing a great job. Claire acknowledges that she may have misinterpreted Nikki's friendliness and asked her too many personal questions. She expresses her willingness to be there for Nikki whenever she needs her. Nate reassures Claire that everything is fine and that Nikki will tell her if she crosses the line. Claire thanks Nate for talking her down and compliments him on his ability to fit in at Newman without actually being a Newman. Nate agrees and Claire suggests they could meet outside of the office for him to give her some pointers. Nate gives her some advice and proposes they meet for coffee someday to discuss it further. Claire likes the idea.
