What happened today on The Young and the Restless: Victoria and Nate share a difference of opinion, Christine sets boundaries with Danny, and Nick finds himself at a crossroads.

At the hospital, Christine visits Chance's room and asks Nina if there is any update on his condition. Nina replies that they are waiting for the doctor to assess the damage caused by the bullet, and it's too early to predict anything. Christine assures Nina that Chance will be alright. Nina becomes emotional and asks why it always has to be her son, saying that it's too much for anyone to handle.
Sharon asks Elena about Chance's condition upon arriving at the hospital. Elena informs her that Chance is not out of the woods yet, but the prognosis is positive, leading Sharon to express relief. Elena proceeds to say that the bullet went straight through and didn't hit any vital organs. Elena comments on how lucky he is, while Sharon cannot believe this has happened. Sharon requests to see him for a short period, and Elena accompanies her. Sharon shares the news with Nina and Christine that the doctors believe Chance will make a full recovery. Elena checks in with them and suggests they all take a break, and she will personally inform them if there are any updates. Although Nina is hesitant at first, Christine convinces her to take a break, but not go too far. Before leaving, Nina kisses Chance on the forehead.
Christine, Nina and Sharon go to Crimson Lights and get something to drink. Nina says this has to stop; this is the third time she had to sit in a waiting room wondering if her son is going to be okay. Sharon tells her that it's hard to live with, but they need to accept that this is what Chance wants to do with his life. Nina notes that she doesn't accept it anymore. Nina says she is going to beg him to quit; he cannot keep doing this to people who love him and she thinks Sharon can convince him. She knows they have been seeing each other and she knows Chance really cares about her. Nina notes that from what Chance told her, maybe she can be the one to get through to him. Sharon is hesitant. Nina tells her that she should try, given the circumstances, pointing out that the last man she was involved with was a cop, too. Sharon admits that Rey was her husband and he died, and it really broke her heart. She says he didn't die in the line of duty but he died in a terrible accident. Nina is sorry to hear this. Danny arrives and learns that Chance was shot earlier tonight. The prognosis is good, but they are just waiting to hear some news. He wonders if there is anything he can do and the ladies get an alert from Elena. Christine wants to go too, but Nina tells her to stay and talk to Danny. Christine wants to be there for her, but Nina tells her that she is fine.
Danny and Christine have a heart-to-heart conversation about the recent events related to Chance. Christine shares with Danny that she tried to stay strong for Nina's sake, but what really scared her was the fact that she has known Chance since he was born, and he is such a good person. She can't understand why something like this had to happen to him. Christine wants to tell Paul, but Danny advises her to wait until the good news is official. Christine agrees and they both take this as a reminder to appreciate life and live each day as if it could be your last. Just then, Danny receives a text from Daniel asking to reschedule their dinner. He is disappointed and shares this with Christine. He suggests she could join him for dinner instead. However, she makes it clear that it will not be a date. Later, Christine receives an update from Nina that Chance will make a full recovery.

Nick bumps into Victoria at the GCAC and asks her if she's looking for someone. She admits that she is searching for Nate, assuming that he would be there. Nick informs her that he hasn't seen him around. Victoria expresses her desire to head home, but Nick insists that he needs a drink and suggests that she could use one, too. He then inquires about Nate's reaction to the recent events. Victoria shares that both she and Nate were caught off guard by what Victor did. Nick acknowledges that when it comes to their father, they should be prepared for anything. Victoria points out that she was not expecting to be on the receiving end of Victor's actions. She also informs Nick that Nate believes she sided with Adam and threw him under the bus. Victoria explains that the only thing she agreed with Adam on was keeping the situation under control. She wishes she had the opportunity to clarify things with Nate, believing that he would understand if he gave her a chance, but he hasn't returned any of her calls.
Nick apologizes for Victoria's hurt feelings, but he is happy that Nate is no longer working at Newman Enterprises. Nick believes that Nate was attempting to force their father out of the company so that Victoria could take over as Co-CEO, with Nate as her right-hand man. Victoria wonders if Adam was also trying to accomplish the same goal. Nick is uncertain but thinks that Adam may have been genuinely concerned for their father. Nick is worried about how their father's actions may impact Victoria. She finds it hard to believe that their father would consider her a threat. Victoria wants to meet up with Nate and show him her support. She believes that this is far from over, and Nate should try to get his job back. Nick warns her against it and mentions that their father has been pressuring him to return to the company, and even offered him Nate's former position. Nick is unsure about what he will do next. Victoria decides to sleep on it and heads to the lounge to listen to some music. She invites Nick to join her, but he declines.

Nate is drinking at the Jazz Lounge bar when Devon arrives. Devon asks Nate if he's okay and Nate responds by saying that is the million-dollar question. Devon inquires about the reason and Nate says it's a personal matter that he'd rather not get into. Devon suggests that they could talk about things another time, but Nate insists on discussing it now since he said he wanted to talk. Devon notes that he wanted to meet to talk about them and the silent war they've been having for years now. Nate admits it's not always so silent. Devon agrees and suggests they talk about things. He knows Nate has been making an effort to put things behind them and he appreciates that. Devon says it's time for him to make more of an effort with Nate. Nate says this has been a big day of surprises for him and Devon wonders what he means. Nate opposes discussing it and instead asks Devon what changed because he had kind of given up on hope. Devon says it's started with Mamie and he and Lily have been thinking about how Neil would handle this situation. He could hear Neil saying giving Nate a chance. Nate appreciates Devon reaching out. He thinks they need to work things out, but it won't happen overnight.
Victoria arrives and says she has been searching for Nate. She asks him to talk and he tells her he doesn't have anything to say to her right now. She knows he is upset and asks if they could sit down and talk things through. However, he is beyond upset. Devon decides to leave. He mentions that he was fired and that when it comes down to it, the Newmans always protect themselves. Victoria wishes that there was some way to make him understand that she was raised to put family protection above everything else, no matter what. So, for her to think that her father was losing his mental capacity was overwhelming for her. Victoria admits that she would hate for her father's actions to put a wrench in her relationship with Nate. She wants to find a way to make things up to him. Nate feels like an outsider when it comes to the Newmans, and his Aunt Mamie warned him about it. He thinks this is a wake-up call for him to repair his relationship with his family.
