Chad Duell is hitting the stage!
Duell, best known for playing the role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, is set to star alongside Zach Mendez in the world premiere of Yum Yum at Annapolis, a new play by Bruce Reisman.
According to a post on Instagram by Stoneypoint Entertainment, “Rehearsals begin with a table read next week, then the public, full-tech, and costumed invited audience concert reading in April in Los Angeles at the legendary @elportaltheatre in NoHo. It’s the start of a journey to New York, where an Off-Off-Broadway run is planned for late fall.”
Yum Yum At Annapolis takes place in the hot summer of 1939, as America’s greatest playwright, Eugene O’Neill, is about to start writing arguably his greatest play, Long Day’s Journey into Night. But since he wrote most of his plays in longhand, in New London, Connecticut, “Gene” hires a young handyman, “Eddie (played by Chad Duell),” to refurbish his front porch. Covering fourteen days, from the hiring of the young sailor to their parting of the ways once the job is completed, an intense, funny, emotional bond develops between the men in a world on the brink of war.
Chad Duell played the role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital as a series regular from April 20, 2010, to January 21, 2025. During his run, he earned several Daytime Emmy Award nominations, taking home the trophy in 2015 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Stay tuned to Soap Opera News for updates!
