Welcome back to our “Characters of the Past” column. As per usual, we are focusing on previous characters who were on our daytime soaps. Today, we focus on Phoebe Forrester whom many viewers of ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ would remember. The role was played by McKenzie Mauzy from 2006 – 2008 when the character was killed off.
Here’s a little history: Phoebe is the daughter of Ridge Forrester (then played by Ronn Moss, now Thorsen Kaye) and Taylor Hayes (Hunter Archilla) and the twin sister of Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Growing up, Phoebe and Steffy shared a close bond and we would often see that when their mom, Taylor was presumed dead at times. At points in their life, they also had Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) as a mother figure.
During her time in L.A, Phoebe was romantically involved with men such as; Rick Forrester (then played Kyle Lowder, now Jacob Young), Shane McGrath (ex-Dax Griffin), Constantine Parros (ex-Constantine Maroulis) and Harry Jackson (ex-Ben Hogestyn).
In final scenes, learning that Rick was involved with her, then her mother and now her twin sister, she was furious and went to confront him. They had a huge argument before heading for Ridge and Brooke’s wedding rehearsal party. Rick walked away and went to his car but Phoebe wouldn’t allow him to leave without finishing their argument. In the car, as they argued, Phoebe unknowingly placed her foot atop his on the accelerator flooring the gas which led to a terrible car accident. Rick in pain, left the scene barely managing to walk to Eric’s (John McCook) house to get help. There, he encountered Ridge and they rushed off to the scene of the accident where they found a barely conscious Phoebe who woke up and began to sing the song she wrote for her father’s wedding to Brooke. It was there and then that Phoebe passed away in her father’s arm.
So, what has Mauzy been up to since her last appearance on the show in 2008? Since then, Mauzy has done several primetime shows and movies which include; Law & Order, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Drop Dead Diva, NCIS: Los Angeles, Bones, Forever as Abigail Morgan, Manson’s Lost Girls and Girls Night Out. So, would fans want to see Phoebe and Steffy reunited? Should ‘B&B’ rewrite history and revive the character? Should Mauzy make a ghostly appearance?
